I know they have released very limited information so far ... but I am very curious how the two will compare (especially for us Smugglers).
I see three cannons, all pointing forward ... where the YT-1300 would have a 360 degree target range ...
I presume they are both going to have multi-person abilities (but will it be three separate people fighting).
As people get actual facts on this, I would appreciate it if they were postingthem here.

I would assume from an RP standpoint, a YT would have more room for 'cargo' where the yacht would have more space for passengers.. so it all depends on what, or who your smuggling...

I dunno know about you guys and gals, but that Yacht looks like 10 bottles smooth on the Colt 45 rating scale.
I could take a Twi'lek up there and sweet talk her up in space.. ohhhh!!!!! ...gettin' goose bumps thinking about it.

Lando's personal ship. I forget exactly where he acquires it, but I'm almost 100% sure it happens in the Jedi Academy Trilogy.

In the books it's a nice craft, neatly upgraded like the Falcon, but never quite as far as the Falcon. If you take both stock versions, they are equally as weak as each other, but then we know the YT1300 in JTL isn't stock version.

Just wanted to add a large "Hallelujah!" for there being at least one more multi person transport in the game - let's hopeit's a sign of things to come! It would be great if more craft like this came available, giving everyone more choice and smugglers a wider range of options when it comes to picking their smuggling craft of choice and making her their baby.

As of now I think I would go with the yacht! I think that everyone and thier mother is going to have the YT- 1300 so I think that I will go the less travled path! But we will see, I will definatly test drive both models before settling in!

If both are equal, I would probably go for the Sorosuub ... but I doubt they will be.
I will go with whichever is better for me ... quality/performance.
I am hoping that the 'free' one is high quality. Have you guys ever bought a pistol from a recruiter? They suck (compared to same model made by a WS) ...
If the Yacht is high quality and overall better ... then by all means, that is what I will use.
On a side note, what is the point of multi-person ships (other than manning turrets)? For someone to ride in a ship, they need the SE & then will already have a ship...
If we could transport anyone ... then that would be of service.
