"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

Huh? The startover option should reset you to your original template before you revoked surrendered anything. If you revoked all and then accepted yeah, you have nothing left to respec when the next 12hrs rolls by. If you still have your original template, and need to respec it after a mistake or a semi-respec'd template due to operator error... wait twelve hours from when you did your last respec, then when you log in, you will have another pop up window stating you may respec your skills. If it does not show, type this exactly (and it is case sensitive): /ui action skillsRespec

Do not miss the capital R or the last s in skills.

Actually just a few minutes ago /respec worked.

I had a few points left when I hit "accept" when I respeced yesterday, and I got a message that all respec changes were final and that my remeaning points would be saved for my next respec.

So I would wait the 12 hours and type /respec again , and see.

IF you lost them all and are really screwed, then I would /bug.

This is ABSOLUTLY incorrect. The box says "if you have any points left over and unspent you will LOSE them."

Why is this so impossible for you people to understand?

I usually ignore glaring color huge font typing, remind me of a frustrated kid jumping up and down yelling.

Add to this the "you peoples" statement that usually made me cringe, and I was very tempted to just ignore. But for the sake of understanding what happened here, gonna reply....

Yesterday I just removed a skill giving me back 4 standard points, and I hit "ok". Here is WORD for WORD the system warning I got:

Are you sure you wish to respec your character this way? You still have points left to spend. If you do not spend them they will be saved, but you cannot use themuntil your next respec. Note that a respec is a permanent change and can not be "undone" In a box with"Yes" and "No" buttons.

Today I did /respec again, and you are right, leftover respec points are gone . So there is something wrong with the wording of that warning, VERY misleading.

Yeah, they need to do that. Just received answer from my ticket... in essence, "Sucks to be you, but I was alright", said CS-PatrickM.So, working 'as intended'. No worries, was only about 18 standard points. *sigh* I'm already past needing them, but more worried that others will fall into the same problem.

Changed respec confirmation message to better reflect the process

From the last TC patch notes. (so it is true now on TC, not live yet!)
Thought it was relevant to the discussion here.

Edit: Mmm had to type it, Tiggs and her "style" that make quoting her hard. "grumble"

Thank you, thank you, thank you. It's not just me (but I'm sorry it has happened to others as well).

I have a second SCR ticket in for this very thing. (And as much as I love orange, the large text that is incorrectly correcting is obnoxious).

Friday night, respec'd. In respec interface, converted combat skills into respec points. Did not have enough skill points available to distribute all of respec points. So, I clicked "ok" and got the very same confirmation box that states unused respec points will be save for your next respec session which can occur in 12 hrs. The change I am accepting will be permanent. However, when you return to respec interface, the unused respec points are gone. When consulting the Knowledge base, it says the exact opposite of the confirmation box. I logged on another account, did the same thing to get the confirmation box and took a screenshot of it. (This time without accepting the changes).

So yes, major miscommunication error on the end of SOE. My ticket is still open, we will see what happens.

Yup, the Knowledge Base infos and the in game infos conflicting is bad, very bad.

I lost a big 4 "standard" points so for me not that big a deal, but for some others it can be a HUGE issue.

I would recomend not only/bug'ing, but posting about the conflicting infos on Tigg's bugs thread.

They need to either fix the bug causing the leftover points to be lost (and correct the Knowledge Base) or if it is working "as intended", fix the misleading in-game message.

indeed and on my 4th ticket, quoting the kb article, My only response, (i had requested the ticket not be closed untilt eh query was delt with to my satisfaction, IE a complete replacement of my skills) They merely said sorry to hear of your particle, And quoted article 1042 )or whatever) infull to me , and closed my ticket. So whilst you are all worried about the odd points, I have lost, two master elites, with a full nov master, and 3 trees... I am one unhappy bunny. As their projected dealing with time, is "We are unsure if we CAN deal with this issue, and dont knwo when if we do"

To clarify i haev no oints for respec, and no skills whatsoever at all now.
