That CSR was out of the loop apparently. Yes, it is an exploit confirmed by Taurin.

Ok, this doesn't explicitly call out power up slicing but...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
NikkiDial has it correct. The Master box improves slicing, but the tool quality and other things do not.
Brandon Reinhart / GreenMarine
SOE Designer, Star Wars Galaxies
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
If GreenMarine is saying nothing but the master box improves slicing, that would imply any other slicing "improvement" is not intended.
Here is the original thread.

Yeah, but we all know how reliable Taurin is. He thinks Feign Death isn't a combat move...

OMG, CRS needs to pull it's head out of it's arse. "it's and exploit, it's not an exploit, FD is a combat move, FD is not a combat move"! Come on!!!!! Arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

why are we smugglers can't use *tricks*? just a thought
There is a difference between a "trick" like FD in the dirty fighting tree and an exploit. An exploit is not something intentionally placed in game and in some cases bannable. Bottom line is if its not Ok'd by CRS the Dev's or SOE just don't do it.

Too true. And yet here we have a CSR declaring the "trick" ok... Should we start a link thread with urls to all the "this is an exploit" and "this is not an exploit" threads and screenes we have accumulated? Be nice for those of us who get tired or repeating "it's an exploit" to have threads and screen shots available to back it up.

The CSR's know less about the game they're being paid to support than we do about the game we're paying to play. I'd be so tempted just to do this exploit and then if someone says stop to say "I'll stop when you get your act together, cause right now I've got a CSR telling me it's fine."

This CSR said specifically that it is an exploit.

I don't know about you guys, but I have dealt with CSRJohnG several times in the last year, and he has been very good at getting things taken care of. If he says it, Ibelieve it. As for the first CSR, I can't recall having seen his name before...maybe he is just new?
