I logged on to Yahoo and have the following email from SOE

Dear Current Star Wars Galaxies™: Jump To Lightspeed™ Subscriber,

Congratulations – we are pleased to inform you that you have just received 75,000 in-game credits added to one existing character per galaxy as our way of saying thanks for a great year.

Our best to you this holiday season.

May the Force be with you,

The Star Wars Galaxies Team

Important Information

  • To qualify to receive the 75,000 in-game credits you must have an active Jump To Lightspeed account, in good standing, on or before 11:59PM PST on January 31, 2005. The 75,000 credits will be added to one character per server one time only. Credits will only be awarded once. Credits that are lost, traded or otherwise not redeemed cannot be traded for other game items or for cash. Credits awarded will not be replaced/reissued under any conditions.

75k ain't crap... you wanna thank me, then revamp me! This must be the balance for the solo group thing I keep seeing everyone whine about.

Anyone else get this?

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Yup got my email today as well. Kinda had to chuckle. The Dev's must think 75k is an awsomeamount. I wonder if the sarcastic threads about this will get the hint across?

They do have good lawyers.... look at that fine print!

LOL, just kidding. I actually don't mind the devs giving us some money. I know they are busting their asses on other parts of the game. It would be kinda lame if they took a week out of their time to make giving us some dumb looking hat work...

It's pathetic.

I've stopped playing. Once I get my veteran reward I will cancel and park my account until such time as they do the much promised, but never delivered, revamp.

JTL was fun.... for a couple months of beta.... and it was OK for a few weeks of final. But the game is boring, has been boring for a while and without a revamp I just don't see it going anywhere. I don't WANT A Jedi. I don't particularly want to play a SLOW version of a space combat simulator (just a hint SOE... MMOFPSS should NOT be hyper-graphics-intensive, it should be FAST, ACCURATE and LAG-FREE)

As to the much vaunted and NEVER delivered revamp/rebalance/combat balance?

I cry BS.... haven't seen BOO about it since JTL came out. We've had multiple patches for JTL (just as I predicted) and not one thing for the rebalance.

Just pathetic.

Boy I can't wait till I get WOW for Christmas, I'm SOOOOO GONE.

Did I mention I love my wife? I'm bad, I saw the credit card receipt

BTW, anyone noticed really getting the cash?

I didn't got the email since I don't have JTL, but I was just wondering if it was genuine since someone in Game Guide seem to express doubts. So, anyone noticed being 75k richer?

Edit: a few PA mates told me they DID got the cash, so forget my question.

I logged in tonight and didn't get it... I even logged out and back in just to make sure and I still didn't get it.

Got the mail and logged in to see if I got the $$.

Each of my 3 characters on different galaxies had a 75,000 "Don't mention the revamp" bribe in the bank.

Looks like it won't be delivered until New Years...

Since it says you've to have JtL enabled before Dec 31.

I'm guessing that they're betting on alot of people getting JtL for Christmas, and enabling between Christmas and New Years...

If it is a bribe, it is a "Get JTL" one

thats what i dont understand.
it definately seems to be a 'get jtl' bribe, but so far the only people who seem to have gotten the mail are people that already have jtl.
im sure they are counting on a lot of people getting jtl during the holidays, hence the 'available till january 31' date.
i know im hoping some one will get it for me. if not, i will just go buy it for myself anyway.

i just checked my email and had no such note. maybe im farther down the list because my last name starts with v but this is email, look at all the junk mail i get.
i guess ill check it tomorrow too.

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

I got one, but since they didn't seem tosay anything in particular that may or may not effect me, I'ma pocket the change and be *more* annoying to the devs.

This cash is *supposed* to help JtL players get new ship parts I believe, but for the average player 75000 credits is a day's worth of tips (or am I the only person that does that?)
