how does the feindeath macro work? what do you need to put if for it to activate when you get hit?

My macro is...
/stand;
/ui action clearCombatQueue;
/feign;
I'm not in game so I'm not quite sure if line two is spelt correctly... But it is something like that.
Make sure you have stand, clear the combat, then hit feign. That way your next move you pull off will be the feign and the next hit that nails you knocks you out.

It doesn't work that way. When you /feignDeath, you "wait" for the next hit and go down. You need to execute it before you get hit.
The only point of macroing it is to take off your armor before executing it.

The way I stated does work, I do not know how you can go off saying it doesnt.
If you have 5 moves in your combat queue and you then queue feign, it takes those 5 moves. And I'm not sure if this has been fixed, but there was a bug where you wouldn't feign if you were kneeling or prone.
The only reason to take off your armor is if you're in PvP. You may have to take it off if you feign in a place where there are area attacks.
But in order for the feign to work, you have to have the feign icon next to your name, then the next initial hit will make you feign.

I was actually addressing his original question about having it "activate when you get hit". Maybe I misunderstood what he was asking for.

Without quotes I didn't know if that post was directed towards me or not, but since it followed my post I figured it was directed at me
But yes... the only thing I can think the original post was confused about is that nothing has to be put into the macro for feign to work besides the initial feign command... the others I believe only assist in the swiftness of the feign working

I think we were composing our posts at the same time. There were no replies when I hit reply, and I didn't feel the need to quote the original question. Then you went ahead and beat me to the "submit post" button.

I've been giving a feign macro some though, but it presents an interesting challenge, since my armor macro is pretty…complex. Let me first give you all a rundown on how it works, then present what I intend to begin testing soonish, and see what you think.
My armor macro is a single-button toggle. It will automatically don or doff my armor from any one of 5 toolbar panes, removing clothing items that are not automatically superceeded by armor, and then return to the apropriate toolbar pane. This is where the problem comes in. It took me a while to figure out how to get the feign macro to know whether or not my armor was currently on, and which pane to return to. I believe that I've figured out how to let the feign macro know whether or not I'm wearing armor, but since I have feign bound to middlemouse rather than a pane-specific hotkey, I don't believe there's any way for it to know which pane to return to.
With all that in mind, usage: copy the macros into your CTRL-A screen with the listed names. Type out the alias definitions (once only) one line at a time in the chat box. Place all of your armor in the F1-F12 slots of toolbar pane 6 (CTRL-F6.) Place the clothing that will be overridden by armor (jacket, gloves, shoes, pants, hat) in the Shift-F1-Shift-F6 slots of toolbar pane 6 (CTRL-F6.) Place the clothing that will not be overridden by armor (bracelet, ring, necklace) in the Shift-F9-Shift-F12 slots of toolbar pane 6 (CTRL-F6.) Drag the ToggleArmor# to your toolbar, # being the same as CTRL-F# used to access that pane. Bind ToggleFeign to any button you wish, it is not pane-specific.
One last thing before quoting the macros: I haven't tested this new version yet, so if it makes your computer explode, or your armor implode, or sticks you in an endless feign cycle, I take absolutely no responsibility for it. But in theory this should take off all your armor, then stick you in a feign loop so the first time you get shot you drop and lie there until you hit the toggle again. (And yes, it will be spammy while running.)

Syzygy-Gorath,
Your macro is SUPER complicated... JESUS lol
Why do you have to worry about the pauses down to 2.3 intervals I believe?
Why don't you make an alias to match your macros instead of the macros specifically named for other macros?
Lets see how I can compile something... (this may take a while)
Lets say that you use /ui action toolbarPane00 as your main pane, and /ui action toolbarPane01 be your armor and clothing pane.
I would set an alias to goto a macro that would go through all your clothing and all your armor.
/setalias donArmor /macro ArmorMacro; <- put on all armor, take off all clothing. Shortcut should be /don.
/setalias doffArmor /macro ClothingMacro; <- Put on all clothing, take off all armor. Shortcut should be /dof.
/setalias doffArmor /macro ClothingMacro; <- Put on all clothing, take off all armor. Shortcut should be /dof.
Macro: ArmorMacro
/ui action toolbarPane01; <- Armor / Clothing Pane
/pause .5;
/ui action toolbarSlot12; <- Shirt
/ui action toolbarSlot13; <- Pants
/ui action toolbarSlot14; <- Hat
/ui action toolbarSlot15; <- Shoes
/ui action toolbarSlot16; <- Belt
/pause .5
/ui action toolbarSlot00; <- Armor Helm
/ui action toolbarSlot01; <- Armor Chest
/ui action toolbarSlot02; <- Armor Pants
/ui action toolbarSlot03; <- Armor Boots
/ui action toolbarSlot04; <- Armor Gloves
/ui action toolbarSlot05; <- Armor Bicep R
/ui action toolbarSlot06; <- Armor Bicep L
/ui action toolbarSlot07; <- Armor Bracer R
/ui action toolbarSlot08; <- Armor Bracer L
/ui action toolbarPane00;
/ui action toolbarPane01; <- Armor / Clothing Pane
/pause .5;
/ui action toolbarSlot12; <- Shirt
/ui action toolbarSlot13; <- Pants
/ui action toolbarSlot14; <- Hat
/ui action toolbarSlot15; <- Shoes
/ui action toolbarSlot16; <- Belt
/pause .5
/ui action toolbarSlot00; <- Armor Helm
/ui action toolbarSlot01; <- Armor Chest
/ui action toolbarSlot02; <- Armor Pants
/ui action toolbarSlot03; <- Armor Boots
/ui action toolbarSlot04; <- Armor Gloves
/ui action toolbarSlot05; <- Armor Bicep R
/ui action toolbarSlot06; <- Armor Bicep L
/ui action toolbarSlot07; <- Armor Bracer R
/ui action toolbarSlot08; <- Armor Bracer L
/ui action toolbarPane00;
The above macro takes off all clothing, or puts it on if you already had a piece or two of armor on so you will no longer have armor on, then it puts your armor on piece by piece.
Macro: ClothingMacro
/ui action toolbarPane01;
/pause .5
/ui action toolbarSlot12; <- Shirt
/ui action toolbarSlot13; <- Pants
/ui action toolbarSlot14; <- Hat
/ui action toolbarSlot15; <- Shoes
/ui action toolbarSlot16; <- Belt
/ui action toolbarSlot17; <- Jacket
/ui action toolbarPane00;
/ui action toolbarPane01;
/pause .5
/ui action toolbarSlot12; <- Shirt
/ui action toolbarSlot13; <- Pants
/ui action toolbarSlot14; <- Hat
/ui action toolbarSlot15; <- Shoes
/ui action toolbarSlot16; <- Belt
/ui action toolbarSlot17; <- Jacket
/ui action toolbarPane00;
The above macro goes through your full suit ( key to it working ) of clothing and will either take what is already equiped off, or replace your armor.
With that combination... simply adding the line /doff to your feign macro, it would put your clothing on and all your armor would be off. The key is keeping a full wardrobe. This way if you are wearing any armor, your jacket, pants, hat, boots and gloves will take all armor off and replace it with clothing. The worst that could happen is you being naked while laying on the ground if you were not wearing armor when starting the feign macro.
Now to feign...
Macro: StartFeign
/doff; <- Runs the clothing macro
/stand; <- Stands you up to prepare for the feign
/ui action ClearCombatQueue; <- cancels any other running combat commands ( may double check the command itself )
/feign; <- Feign Death.
/doff; <- Runs the clothing macro
/stand; <- Stands you up to prepare for the feign
/ui action ClearCombatQueue; <- cancels any other running combat commands ( may double check the command itself )
/feign; <- Feign Death.
The alias could be
/setalias sfeign /macro StartFeign
After all of this you have created only three macros and three aliases.
/don
/doff or /dof
/sfeign
ArmorMacro
ClothingMacro
StartFeign
To stop any of them you wouldn't really need anything besides /dump or maybe the clear combat command.
I do not know if this will actually work or not... I've been out of game for two weeks now :/ I will definately try this when I get my new motherboard in tomorrow or friday. Let me know if it works for anyone if you try it...

perhaps i've missed something here, but what difference does it make whether you're wearing armour or not when you feign? From what i remember, it won't make any difference. Has this changed sine feb 2004?

When feigned, damage taken is inflicted to your armor…in other words, feign with your armor on in PvP and you can kiss it goodbye.

I've also thrown in:
/opposum
(to remind my buddies I'm not REALLY dead)
and
/howl LO! By a cruel twist of fate, I am slain! Woe!
(Just because I'm a ham.)

You mean people still try to feign in pvp? I'd of thought, after all this time, that people have realised it's entirely useless to bother by now. Since you're still attackable, just unkillable.
Yeah, must be enjoyable spending ages healing up those wounds afterwards.
I'd rather just die and reclone.
I think people need their heads examined if they use FD in pvp.
