perhaps i've missed something here, but what difference does it make whether you're wearing armour or not when you feign? From what i remember, it won't make any difference. Has this changed sine feb 2004?

When feigned, damage taken is inflicted to your armor…in other words, feign with your armor on in PvP and you can kiss it goodbye.

You mean people still try to feign in pvp? I'd of thought, after all this time, that people have realised it's entirely useless to bother by now. Since you're still attackable, just unkillable.
Yeah, must be enjoyable spending ages healing up those wounds afterwards.
I'd rather just die and reclone.
I think people need their heads examined if they use FD in pvp.

/shrug I never said it was a good idea, I was just trying to minimize damage…to some people that PvP rating is going to be all-important.

Most of the universe's problems can be solved by the application of a brick to the side of the right head.
The problem is if you don't have a big enough brick or can't find the right head. The devil is in the details.

Gee, thanks for all that guys. What I was originally getting at is a couple of tales in the "Laugh for a Smuggler" thread where a guy said he had set his Feindeath macro while declared so he would drop at the first shot when he was jumped. They might beat the crap outta you but they aint gonna kill you!

Yup…in theory, as long as you loop /feign every Xths of a second, it'll work like that—I just like being overcomplicated (and really, I'm far too lazy to hit more than one button when I want to do something…so I write really long, incomprehensible macros to do it all for me )

Edit: Grr! I hate Lithium. Just went through and commented the entire bloody macro set, but Lithium ate it all. Argh! I'll try to redo it so that it all makes sense once I cool down from wanting to firebomb whoever wrote this steaming pile of **self-edit** they call a forum.

Edit2: Yay, got the comments to go through this time (and saved a copy just in case they didn't ) Hopefully this will clear up some of the confusion, and make it a little more understandable why I have such a complex macro—it's not just for feign, it's how I put on and take off my armor all the time…the feign bit is just an "I'm overt and need to AFK" bonus.

Well if you are a TKM who cares? takes me about 1-2 mins to heal up the wounds, and about 3-5 mins in a cantina.

And FD in PvP can be a great asset. Lets say you are in a raid and the battle is going fair and then here comes the CM tossing poisons. Well the Doc cant get to everyone right off and since you are a Smuggler your not a "Combat" profession. So they are healing the other docs and rifleman and such. Well you just FD so not to die and then when a Doc is able to get others taken care of he can get to you. Kind of like a "Hey im cool heal the others and get to me in a few". This has saved many a raid I been on, and kept me from being killed and gave my doc precious time to heal some of the other classes.
