There has to be some risk vs. reward. With ALL due honesty I think players would be better off having to decide if they want to chance getting their weapon sliced.
I've been a Smuggler for 630 days. I vote for weapon slice item breakage!

Risk (Item breakage) vs. Reward (quad sliced weapon)
Are you blind?
What is it now? with no risk its just a 1 time slice and see ya. I have to fix my bike. why shouldn't I have to fix my gun?

dunno how that got you peeved...
The old system there was just reading and you got it right,
the new system guns can break and stuff and smugglers need to repair them (unless the patch notes changed)
so isnt tht what you wanted?

Yeah I'm peeved because it took some (other) professions 1 day to whine about OUR SLICES, that in 1 day it was taken out. Now its just as bland as it ever was!
I've always wondered why the oatmeal industry made so much money. Now I know its because these people breath air!

The idea of "jamming" a weapon or armor is terrific ! The only thing to remove was the lost condition when a weapon/armor will be repaired by a smuggler.

Can someone give us a rundown on exactly what happened with the removal? I know how it was supposed to work and how it was working (or not working, as it happened) when it first hit TC, but what's up now? Was there a dev note that it's been removed? If not, how do we know it wasn't just changed to how it was supposed to work--breakage every couple weeks, not every couple shots?
I ain't down with it being removed, but I'm having a hard time finding the particulars here.

can you bring something back that never made it into live?
shouldn't this be a "put it into live petition" not a "bring it back" petition
just a thought
Whatever is on TC is considered to have made the pass through QA (bahahaha) and will be live, with the notes of the last hotfix to TC being what live players will see in their datapad when it's released.
so then it has never made it onto live

And all the opinions posted above about why it was removed are entirely speculation, since the Devs have not seen fit to actually communicate to us why it was done.

That's what I was wondering.
I support this thread, though. The notion of (fully reparable) breakage as a result of sliced gear is exactly the kind of consequences we've been asking for to our "risky" and "illegal" activities for a very long time now.
