The gaming table has a use tab when u click on it once placed - but mine doesn't work?
Is this intentional / bug or is it because I thought it was only furniture and used the most useless resources I could lay my hands on!

Currently you can't use it.. and that option better not be another cruel trick. I demand eventual functionality!

I'm telling you though, as soon as I pull one of those off these Valarian thugs' steaming corpses, I'm gonna stick it on my Decimator and turn it into the most heavily armed casino boat in the galaxy.

Is it the same table that you can gamble off of and double your money from 1-10k credit or so? If it is, then its just a copy and forgot to take the playing options totally out...

No, it's a Holochess table. You know, the table/game thatR2-D2 and Chewie were playing in A New Hope when Han said the famous line about Wookiees pulling people's arms out of the sockets when they lose?

Well, after picking one up on the bazaar for 3K, then spending hour after hour in a fruitless scouring of Tatooine searching for more (including a heart-breaking betrayal of Jabba that netted a few neat posters, but not my precious tables), I engaged in a ferocious bidding war with one of Starsider's big merchants to acquire the other three I want--nay, NEED--to add to my Decimator (along with the other two up for auction, should they prove cheap enough; one for Dreven and one for another old-timey smuggler). We bid and counterbid, singlehandedly extending the auction 30 minutes past its close time.. but when the dust settled, I had my three. For the probably-soon-to-become-ridiculous price of 600K each.
However, I like to think I wasn't bidding on a simple set of tables. I was bidding on the pride of the smugglers. I was paying to let it be known that sure, it's just a piece of furniture--but it's OUR furniture damn it, furniture we've waited for way too damn long to see fall into the hands of some dumpy, middle-man-fattened merchant! Even if I paid for it with money made as a shipwright!
Clearly I got a little excited during this auction and probably shouldn't be posting at all!

hehe...30 minutes after loggin in tonight, and having Tomo tell me that he had tried to get me a gaming table, I was in transit to Tat.
After arriving, and subsequently running 3 missions to kill Valarian Swoopers (~1500 creds a pop), I had 2 schems of my own...
...one of which I'm probably going to trade to another Smuggler for some other loot.

Um, not sure where you got your characterization of me from, but I am not a merchant - I own a gallery that I show my paintings at and I wanted to add a table to it, and the other is a gift for a SMUGGLER friend. I've worked very hard selling droids to make my money for the past year and a half, and now I wish I'd continue to out bid you (even though I got the two I wanted by the end of the auction) just because you've proven yourself to be a jackass.
Next time I bid against you I won't be so nice. BTW, I'm not "dumpy" either - not that you'll ever get the chance to know.

Come on, I was just kidding around; this wasn't intended to be bragging or insulting you, it was taking a little dramatic license to have some fun with my smuggler buddies. I did like getting into a serious bid war with you and thought it was cool how it turned out--we both got ourselves some nice new tables. As for where I got my notion of you, the merchant part came from the fact I associate you with Efex and you were bidding like crazy on all five of them, and as for the dumpy part.. well, I'd hope anyone who read that would know I have no way of knowing what you actually look like and it was either exaggeration or wholesale fabrication. It was the latter.
I won't deny the possibility that I'm a jackass, but it wouldn't be because of my last post here. Maybe you lack the context that many of us smugglers were angry to get this table in the first place--it's complicated and to truly understand the emotional forces at work here would take years of psychological and ethnographic study--but honestly, all I meant by this was a lighthearted story about how I actually had fun with a gambling table. Nothing more. I'm sorry if you took it differently. Still, you're jumping to conclusions awfully quick here.. especially given the tone and style of my post.
On a less defensive topic, the smugglers that hang out in our server chat channel caught some well-deserved good karma tonight.. here me and Leyah are practically having to call an armistice just to end the auction on these tables, then like Dreven said, he goes out and loots two like instantly. I know someone who was killing Jabbas all day today and didn't get a one. Within 5-10 minutes of this, another smuggler mentions he's pulled a No Division poster off a stormtrooper--the ones going for 2.5-4M all the time. Almost immediately after that, he's asking: "er, are these rare? cause I just looted a second."
The jerks.
