So far I would have to say yes, everything i have tested it on and with various health lvls i find when i execute this i am incapped on the next hit from the mob.

key words being "on the next hit from the mob".

It is not an "automatic self incap", it is a last ditch effort to save your hide. If LD is not enough to kill your prey, you ARE dead. (well, incapped) The special finally fit it's name, and it can pack quite a punch too, but at a price (lower your health to around 5% and drain your action and mind bar too if I remember correctly). It is to be used very wisely lol

Only time I used it so far, was against a CL 70 mob (I am cl71), and it saved me. Killed the mob who was chewing trough me (was a stupid attempt to kill it without CC and with a carbin too). I was not incapped, but my health was very low.

It seems the cool down timer on Last Ditch makes it very hard to use it, and then land the next shot on your target unless you already have them rooted. The only times I've felt a need to use Last Ditch is when being pummeled on by a melee class, hoping to lower them to the point that my group mates will be able to destroy them quickly enough that we won't be fully wiped out.

On another note...last night while pvping in cnet I was unable to use last ditch twice. It said something about not being healthy enough....I wish I had the combat log.

Has anyone run into this? Does anyone know what causes it?

Was your Action bar low? I doubt there is an health minimum, since the lower your health, the more damage it do, so it must be something else.

I kept testing out LD tonight. I have about 2500 health max. No matter what my health (I tried at 100 health, 500, 800) I incapped no matter what. The mob would die but I'd still incap. Last week this wasnt happening to me. Not sure what I'm doing wrong now here. Seems like last week I even landed lastditches when I was at like 50 health (altho it was in PVP) that didnt incap me, but tonight I incapped everytime when lastditching (in PVE) no matter what my health was. Could it be you incap everytime in PVE but not inPVP? Or what am I doing wrong to have a100% incapatation rate?

Ok will test it again tonight, against the same mobs. It is true that my last tests were last week.

For it to mean automatic incap is silly, they may have created a bug when solving another, if it is the case I will /bug and report it on the bug thread, and I recomend you do the same.

Ok, here's a little story that supports this theory... I was hunting a jedi, and we got into battle. I let her dwindle my health down (controled with intimidate and synthsteak) when I had the pefect moment, I used last ditch... What happend? I hit her, she was damaged, and we both incapped... So, it would have been impossible for her to damage me! This is definately bugged... (But I will tell you it was some surprise to her, lol... I got a /tell a few seconds later "Hmm... Weird... My healing macro must have stalled")

I hope its a /bug and not a /stealthnerf.

else its pointless for PVP. If you incap the same time I guess you would stand up at the same time... So then it would just be for.. cheap humor? In PVE I suppose its effective since you dont have to DB a mob like you do a player- still incap tho.

I didn't expect them to nerf us this soon if nerf is the case..

I used LD a couple of times last night on some Gungans- just testing my moves.

The first time, Iwas using my LBC in order to see if LD would become an AOElike our other abilities do with Commando weapons.

I had 4 Gungans firing on me and my health was dropping so I let loose with Last Ditch.

I hit my target for 2760 damage points.

I hit every single one of his buddies too...for 0 pts.

And I was incapped.

The second time I used it was against the gungans. These bastards just kept spawning and spawning but it was good to test my weapons, macros and crowd control abilities. Also using line of sight to control who is shooting first or next.

anyway. I believe I had my Renegade in my hand at the time and I popped this gungan for 6780 pts. of damage.

THAT'S RIGHT 6780! Iguess this is because I had next to zero health and I was the same on action.

And I was incapped.

Now, I have a macro for my Last Ditch. It goes:

/say This is going to hurt you more than it hurts me.

/lastDitch

/ui action toolbarSlot 19 (this is where I have my insta-pack)

but I think I did it wrong because I got the "/ui action toolbarSlot 19 is not a command" message.

but you get what the idea is- I figure If I can get a heal in right after the last ditch I'll be alright.

The other suggestion would be to use Cavaellin Creams which cut down on your incap time. This would be handy if Last Ditch auto-incaps you maybe you will get up before your target does (PvP of course) and you can DB and get the hell out of there.

This is just a theory as I haven't used the Creams in the CU.
