nice widget, still had to do this to make myself comfy though. Now I'll use the widget.
My numbers have no elemental dmg in em, anyway..if it helps anyone so be it..otherwise it will ooze down the board ![]()
Health Warning: Sorry calculations coming - caution if its early!!
one thing to remember is that the modified speed is not directly related to your real shot speed you see on screen. a 12% slice might increase your dps by 6.8% but your 2.45 speed riflewitha mod speed of1.36 perhaps would slice to a 2.19 speed rifle with perhaps 1.22 mod speed. but before a slice i'd fire at 1.7 sec per shot, after a 12% speed slice fire at only 1.65 sec per shot.
i tested speed on ranged/placed shot while attacking for about 60 sec ata time (mostly so the kimo would regen). i alternated from ranged to placed as soon as the last had finished and queued the next attack. then logged all the time stamps of my shots (i ran so there was no healing, need for other shots etc for a clean log).
i had 3 speeds from different powerups:
1) 0.93 modified weapon speed
hit 38 times in 61 sec
= 1.61 seconds/shot
2) 1.37 modified weapon speed
hit 35 times in 61 sec
= 1.74 seconds/shot
3) 1.52 modified weapon speed
hit 32 times iun 62 sec
= 1.94 seconds/shot
these figures are an avarage of several runs for each different speed. the only difference beween each different speed was the powerup used (or lack of).
note also that there was a noticable difference between cooldown timers with test 1) compaired to test 3) in ALL attacks. the higher damage attacks seem to slow your real firing speed by the same ammount as their relevent damage mulitplier.
this data is not quite linear - more testing needs to be done to check it, but roughly at a higher mod speed a guide can be used:
Real firing speed = 0.54 x mod speed + 1
so in reality a 12% speed slice gives 3% more damage over time, where a 8% damage slice (from kavs data) would increase damage over time by 4%.
summary:
1/4 the displayed speed slice is the actual "effect"
1/2 the displayed damage slice is the actual "effect"

whew, thanks Fihe, I think /DrinksMoreCoffee
I was only looking at base DPS not knowing the effect on the modded, If i am thinking straight enough your saying that all slices are on base DPS and all Char Mods only take a fraction of that into the modded DPS.
I'll try again aftermy 2nd cup.
