First of all I wanna say you do a great job with trying to get us to smuggle, fixing our slicing system in the CU ect, ect..., but I do have one question.

How come you never do anything to help out the PvP communitie in the smugglers? We have alot of issues and I never see a "What do you think our top three issues are in the CU" thread like I see from the other Corrospondents, I just think it would be nice if you walked the extra mile to help out the smuggler PvP'ers, just my two cents.

Well, I would argue that I have raised the issue; as part of the Smuggler Issues No. 11 states that we're still not where we should be combat wise. However, Smuggler is not primarily a combat profession and as such I and the majority of the community are primarily interested in achieving Smuggling in the game (hence it being listed at no. 11 and not no. 1 ).

If there's anything else you'd like to see done in regards to Smuggler's combat abilities, please say so, as I'm here to help and represent the community rather than my own issues (speaking of issues, it's about time I updated that sheet ).

Even our issues are "under construction"...

Smuggler in PvP is working absolutely wonderful. Iuse the mezzes and states with extreme effectiveness, and my opinion is that our skillset is perfect.

You have access to two, seperately-timed mezzes, one snare, a combat speed debuff, a state-resist debuff, a nice damage special (Reckless Shot), and the very cool utility moves of Last Ditch and Feign Death.

We've got some VERY, VERY awesome combat skills. I am really impressed with the new smuggler after the CU. I am very impressed.

Look at this video and see for yourself what a Smuggler can do in PvP. We are gods of crowd control. This video shows smuggler in a small skirmish. I can cripple armies with area states and mezzes coupled with my commando skills, ESPECIALLY in large fights.

My major gripe with smuggler skills is that our main damage skill (reckless shot) really doesn't do that much damage, and it has a defense penalty to use it. It SAYS that it places a defense penalty on the target, but instead places it on you. Probably a mistype in the description, but we could do without the penalty unless the multiplier is increased.

As a Smuggler / BH, I don't even bother with reckless shot. Torso Shot seems to do the same damage, adds a bleed, and has no defense penalty. Not to mention it's my second highest damage skill in BH. Critical shot does way more damage, even when it doesn't critical.

Oh, and this being all said, I'm still more concerned about smuggling missions than I am dinking with our skills... heh.

I thought the NGE couldn't be any worse than the CU, but I was wrong.

Reckless Shot is SUPPOSED to put a defensive debuff on the smuggler using the special. That is the whole point of going "reckless" to do more damage. Seems pretty clear to me.

Dur...

That's not what I'm debating, but that's NOT what the skill says in the in game description. It clearly says defensive penalty applied to the TARGET not USER. That clear enough for you?

That being said, the skill still sucks... it doesn't have a high enough multiplier to be worth even using.

It has the highest damage multiplier of any special I own because I haven't picked up any real damage-dealing profession.

Well TBH, I love where smuggler is combat wise, I just have a few problems like when people duel someone else while fighting a smuggler to break concussion shot, or when NPC's of the same faction as you shoot the enemy to break his mezz, I know that second one might be tuff to fix but the first one might be easy, they can just make it so you can only duel one person at a time or when you're SF you can't duel or whatever you think might be good also.

But maybe there's a wish list the smugglers might want for pvp, like a knockdown would be nice or maybe an offical word on if FD is allowed in PvP or not.

hehe well thanks for the responce, I hope you get to read this before/if it gets pushed back to the next page

Smuggler only has3 moves worth using in PVP. LastDitch, Panic and Concussion. Other than that every other special is a complete waste of time in PVP and most are also a complete waste of time in PVE.

But is isn't the specials people should be questioning. What should be questioned AND addressed is why a profression described as a "supporting combat role" requires MORE skillpoints to learn than ANY OTHER combat profression except Bounty Hunter.

Why should Smuggler require 15 more skill points than Rifleman or TKA when both of those profressions are easily 10 times as powerful.

IMO Smuggler should ONLY require the last branch from marksman. That way it can support any of the ranged profressions without being a hinderence. Since it has no unarmed specials and no unarmed mods (other than melee defense, which all ranged profressions have) the brawler requirement is a complete waste of time and since Smuggler doesn't have the specials OR weapon bonuses that other profressions have (it actually has roughly half the defense/accuracy/speed of a standard elite ranged profression) it shouldn't require as many skill points to learn as a full elite ranged profression .. it most certainly shouldn't require MORE.

So really there's two options:

1) Reduce the skill point requirement or
2) Increase the mod bonuses to match Bounty Hunter

Don´t worry, it´ll all be part of the coming Smuggler revamp.
