That's certainly something I personally haven't read before.

I think it's a very interesting idea, however it would be something else smugglers are badgered for every five seconds.

I don't know if I would like that idea in general...then again, I'm just one person. A lot of people might like this idea.

Nice job on coming up with something original!

Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

to get a License you either need to go to the Imperial License Department, which requires u to be nuteral or imp, and you either need to bribe or do a rather hard mission. doing one of the 2 will get u a License for that one particular thing for a certain ammount of time.

or you can go to a smuggler who can make u one. The better the smuggler the longer and more likely it will work. Also when there is player bounties, you can get a Alias License to hide from a BH. tell me what u think

Interesting - Imperials and Neutrals can pay a fee for a time based license (say, what a week or 2?) Rebels wouldn't have access so would be dependent upon fake licenses.

Might be neat if the license themselves are more of a "tag" you can put on each weapon - so a smuggler tag may look real, but if the Person scanning decides to "call it in" the holder would get busted.

I like the idea, but man, we'd just be license monkeys hanging out in front of starports!

I don't think I've seen this idea before, nice work!

I disagree with the spice part, it's like having a license to cary Crack. I know people who have tried and they dont make those. Spice should be out right banned with no license to cary it.

As far as the BH alias I would rather see a /mask tef skill so we could actually smuggle people in real time. Not give them an ID card and send them on their way, but nice idea over all.

Perhaps the license would be to use sliced equipment? The license would last for a couple weeks. If you get scanned while having the license, then all sliced equipment is considered illegal.

Now, as has been said, Rebels should need to get a faked license. If they get scanned, the faked license protects the sliced equipment. However, if they are discovered as Rebels, the faked license becomes voided. Due to the fact that Rebels are considered criminals, and the Imperials would recognize that faked license if it were used again.

Now, just allow Neutrals to obtain either the Official License or the Faked License, depending on which quest they wish to undertake, or personal preference to who to give money to.

I like this idea. It could kinda be like the Smuggler version of buffs, like those new skill-enhancer stims. You could have all kinds for different situations: sliced weapons, spices, scan immunity for a time, etc...

Being the shady individuals that we are, I can see the idea of adding forgery to the skillset. Would certainly appeal to me in anycase.

It's an interesting idea but it still doesn't make us a smuggler I'm afraid.

It would make us a 'forger' which we could add to the list of our 'crafting' skills:

Forger,

Gaming furniture craftsman,

Drug manufacturer,

Weapon/armor hacker,

Influence peddler,

Frog bowl craftsman,

and possibly even Casino general contractor.

Nowhere in there do I see us as a freaking smuggler.

If we want a 'untited front' as someone in another thread suggested perhaps we could either choose;

a) smuggling content or

b) changing our profession name.

Nothing is better than smuggling with a good forged ship manifest (or how you call that paper what says you got on board).

It will help us with smuggling even if you can use it for other stuff too.

Jaguaar; "Nothing is better than smuggling with a good forged ship manifest (or how you call that paper what says you got on board).

The problem is that we do NOT smuggle. So any side issues like forged manifests are of no use to us.

Can we please focus on getting actual SMUGGLING in the profession, THEN worry about fun little side jobs like forgery, gambling, drug making, furniture making. I'd even go for our own Smuggler Happy Dance AFTER we get to smuggle.

Sounds interest... but I think I'd rather smuggling people rather then give them a simple fake license.

But it would be cool for Smugglers to be able to make fake licenses for something...
