Thread: Flame me if you want, but I liked the old slicing system much better.
While we did get to finally pick the slices, I would say a lot of us are just disappointed because the whole mini game was removed, we now just click the buttons like good little monkeys. Not being able to exceed the weapon caps really cheeses me off too, but that isn't really about slicing, that's about holding this *cough*crappy*cough* combat system together.
Hey, I'd even take the complete randomness back in order to get the old slicing system again... this whole loot idea is a mess.

The biggest problems with the new system is that they've flooded the market (thus devaluing slices to worthless).
The original system blew chunks. Nothing like having some a$$-wipe whine at you for a half hour b/c the random slice only improved their weapon by 23% instead of 30%. I will never think that crap was superior to anything.

New system.... I either buy extra houses to store loot items used in slicing, or I just refuse to slice unless the customer has what's needed. I chose option number 2.I get tells from BH's almost every time I run though a starport asking if I want to buy the slicing items off them. Sorry, maybe I would if they stacked....
Whoever gave the go-ahead on this current slicing system needs to be fired so we can get somebody in here with a decent thought process.
The old system had it's problems, the randomness, and then the fact that it was just plain broken after CU. But at least it was skill based.
The new system you can pick your slice, but is based on loot and not skill. That and just as I had predicted when they first introduced this new system to the community, the market is already getting flooded with high end loot. So much for the statements made by the devs to adjust the loot drop rates to prevent that from happening.
Bah, doesn't matter anyway as we can't slice above caps which is just ludicrous. A actually took down my Master Smuggler tag and put up my Rogue tag because I got tired of people bitchin cause I could'nt get a high end slice for them cause their weapons or armor were already close to caps, essentally I stopped slicing. I guess all things considered I prefered the old system, Pre-CU.
