Thread: A question about faction grind

I've got Underworld 4 now, and I'd like to start doing faction purchases/sales atleast for my friends and guildmates. Now it's my understanding that to be most efficient and economical with this is to make my way up to Colonel. Is that correct and more importantly, what's the best way to grind out faction points (Rebel in my case) ? Any tricks are tips are very much appreciated!

Yep, it's true. Clickity for more information.

As for grinding, what I did was go through the rebel theme park, farm the weapons research facility (Naboo) each day, farm any bases I could find, and generally run as many missions as possible in the shortest time.

My favorite way to get faction points is grabbing Storm Trooper missions out of a player city faction terminal. (You'll get missions closer to the mission terminal from a player city. If you get them out of say Coronet, you'll have to travel farther.) You'll need at least one person in your group to grab these, depending on skill levels, but the more people you group with the better missions you can get. If you're buffed, they should be no problem to take out. Also, get up to slicing 2 so you can slice terminals -- The higher the mission payout, the more faction you will receive when you destroy the base.

It's easy for me to grab 6k faction in one buff session.

One thing to remember is that the Rebel Base on Rori gives you FP bonuses if you take missions from there.

When I was doing that rank grind, I asked my guild for help. Basically they all gave me spare FP when they could spare it, and we would group up and go on faction hunts together.

Yes, shock, horror, this game is more fun, and easier to acheive something with other people

So far some great ideas! Thank you all for helping me out. Since my home planet is on Rori, I think what I will do is go to the Rori Rebel Outpost and slice the terminal there. My doc friend and I will then grab missions and run as many as we can.

Please keep the great ideas coming if anyone has more to add!

You could also get buffed, grab a doc buddy and go hit anNPCimp base, such as the POI one on Naboo. Toss on some armour and just blow through the base killing every imp (if you do the one on Naboo, watch for the two AT-STs). You can make a lot of faction doing this, but it can be a little dangerous if you're alone and unable to self-heal. You won't earn any cash like you would from doing straight missions, but there are also a lot more NPCs to plow through as well.

EDIT: There's an Imp (hyperdrive facility?) POI on Rori as well.

I know you said you wanted economical methods, but if you have the cash you could just purchase them. Cost would obviously depend on your servers economy. This is also a good way of getting to know other smuggler who deal in faction. This will be beneficial later as if you have customers wanting faction items, you will need 2 smugglers, one to purchase the faction and then delegate to the other to stay under the 500cap. The other to actually buty the faction item with the smuggler bonus.

This may be an expensive way of doing things, but it depends on your means, it also saves a great deal of time, which for some players is more important than the cash.

DOn't get me wrong I'm happy to do faction sales now! I just want the ratio to be a little more efficient which is why I'm looking into the faster way to Colonel.

Well fastest way is to buy them (costly) or persuade friends to delegate them to you (free, hopefully).

its faster to run janta missions in an "Improved Job Market" player city and buy em than it is to grind em. Also that way when you do buy them, you're making a new contact. Teams of colonel master smugglers > just yourself. It can make for some interesting faction perk deals.

Well I definitely would like to meet some of the other Smuggs on Shadowfire and begin a partnership. I guess being a smug I wanted to handle it on my own, as not to burden anyone else, but that's a very good point you bring up.

That being said... Any Smugglers on Shadowfire with UW4 that want to assist me in some faction purchase and possibly working together on future deals as well?
