A Quote from the Combat rebalance thread:

Th, we Smugglers have been promised TIME after TIME that we will get our revamp, and you SoE have failed to fulfill these promises EVERY TIME, stating that you will get to it "After so-and-such" is done.

The last promise was you will do it rightafter JTLS.

Smugglers, Squad Leaders and all the combat professions will benefit from the Combat Upgrade and I think we can all agree that Combat Upgrade should be our next biggest priority. As far as anything else goes, I can neither confirm nor deny anything because we don't know yet. As soon as we do, we'll talk about it when its "next".

Been tellin us that for a while now.

JTL>Combat Upgrade>Profession Revamps & GCW

While I would have liked that combat upgrade done by Christmas, seems it will take a bit longer. They have told us we're at the top of the pile for profession revamps in the past and given my correspondence with them I don't think that has changed in the slightest.

Caylin, no disrespect intended, but SoE has been telling us we are at the top of the priority list TOO FRIGGING MANY TIMES.

The last time was when GM told us we would be gotten to after JTLS.

Now we have to wait for the Combat Revamp?

How many MORE stages will we have to wait for? Huh?

I am beginning to believe that they NEVER intend to revamp us, and are just stringing us alog FOR THE FUN OF IT!!!

This is NOT satisfactory!

I am inclined to agree with silversaber.

It has been said many times that we are next, next being after one particualr thing or another.

The fact is that whilst the rebalance does effect everyone, and so overall is more improtant, does not change the fact the all the other professions bar one or two have been given much more attention then us.

Just to clarify to SOE semi-nerfing our slicing does not qualify as attention, so much as detention.

From TH post on "What's Going on with Combat":

While testing and deploying the Combat Upgrade we will also be instituting numerous small publishes of fixes and enhancements to the Live game.Once Combat Upgrade is done, we will immediately work on upgrading all the non-combat professions in another series of publishes Once all the professions have been through the upgrade process we will focus on expanding and enhancing the Galactic Civil War. Our promise to our players is that Star Wars Galaxies will become an even more amazing experience each month, truly a place to "live the saga" that is Star Wars Galaxies.

If you notice it says "Once all the professions have been through the upgrade process" which is the new term for the Combat Upgrade.

So the correct flow of changes is JTL>Combat Upgrade>Non-Combat ProfessionsCombat Upgrades >GCW > Sumggler Revamp (next year?)

For a while now (since pre-Publish 9) the Devs have been sticking toJtL > Combat Upgrade > We just don't know. While they have been stating various professions will be getting revamped post CU, they've also been talking about the GCW revamp andnot mentioned dates, nor order.

As to Nerj's comment above, Smuggler is a hybrid profession, part combat, part crafting, part content. Now I havn't seen anything to confirm or suggest this, so don't go adding anything to your calenders, but I can see that parts ofSmuggler would fit into the 'Non-Combat professions' by simply thinking about Smuggler being a hybrid profession. That being the case, we'd get stuff from the CU, which we certainly are getting, and the revamp within that 'none combat profession' time frame.

Now, history would show that we're told we're on top of the list and that the revamp will besoon/given a date/publish, only to find that something else gets done first. I'm somewhat optimisitic that this won't be the case here, as we've not been told it'll be soon and certainly not been told any dates. May sound somewhat rediculous, but it sounds right to me. I guess there's an optimist inside me, screaming to get out.

I can see one of the credentials for a Correspondent is Optimism

However, from TH's own post, he states that after Combat Balance and the Non-Combat Professions balance (aka: new armor schematics, new weapon schematics, doc buffs) then the GCW is next on the list.

In addition, I stated to TH that 25% of our current skillset will be affected by the revamp and asked if that would be revisted during the Smuggler Revamp. Since, he has not responded to that,I am sure he has no idea in any case and may when he does, this needs to be covered by YOU WES in the correspondent forum -- for us.

This isn't new news Smuggler Revamp was always after the CB

26 August 2003 - Devs make their first detailed promise to overhaul the Smuggler profession.

27 September 2004 (03:10 PM) - Smuggler_Caylin tells fellow smugglers that he is stepping down as Smuggler Correspondent.

23 November 2004 - PillowTech switches to World of Warcraft.

From what i read, i noticed that TH kept the possibility to postpone us, and that's no good.

I truly do hope that the non-combat profession balance do include their own revamps. We are mentionned along with SL and rangers as being the kind of professions that will be touched by these balances. The optimistic human i am would like to take that for a part (or the whole) of the revamp we have een promised, but the master cynic bothan knows that after the 17 professions balances, after the GCW revamp there will be other things to push.

Wes as you're the new kid on the correspondant block, please make sure we are not left on the side of the road again, everyone here has been standing waiting for the revamp to happen after combat balance. If they don't understand what the word promise means, you're here to remind them. They can't just say something and forget it the week after, and spend 4 months ignoring us. They can't tell GM is assigned to our revamp and then just admit that they don't even know if this revamp will happen.

You are our voice to them, please be sure you are listened to, have some devs come post here for at least a true statement of what we can expect and what we can't.

If i listened to the optimistic human, i would still notice some things that maybe could bring some hope : if they intend to bring some more armors and weapons, they may as well intent to bring some modifications on their slicing? If they're about to make some change on the HAM system and buffing, they may as well be about to make spices usefull? If they're about to change combat moves they may be as well about to give us some dirty fighting abilities or mods? Sure it won't make us smuggle, but at least it would fix a part of the broken profession, i hope that's the way things are going to be.

Bumping to add this quote from Tyrant :

Combat Upgrade is the basis we need in place before revamping the other professions. And we need all the professions to be solid to build a complete and compelling GCW, because it will affect everyone. We will do all this as quickly as we know how, but it will be high quality first and foremost.

Looks like it will be a revamp and not a fix or balance, and that's all we wanted to hear didn't we?

it will be June before they get too us.

I feel cheated and shafted. JtL was pritty damned good i gave the kudos for it buy purchasing the game.

They lie to us over and over again.

I hear ya Caylin. I hear them. I just refuse to belive anything anymore. Except what i see with my own eyes. I guess I have no choice now but to drop smuggler. Ive waited for over 6 months on doing this with vain hopes that they would put us in the top 3 things to fix after JtL, if not to shut us up, then to keep their word. I get the feeling from their post that we are not even in the top 10 things for them to fix. :-( I loved the idea of smuggler, to bad they NEVER got around to doing anything with it!

Feel free to 1 star me... I'm just being honest here.

Yep thats how i took that post also.... It gave the impression that we are at the bottom of the list as being opposed to being anywhere in the middle.
