Thread: Last Ditch question from a Jedi
For smugglers, is this considered a heavy offensive attack that is your big climax, i.e. icing on the cake...or is it truly a last ditch effort to survive and escape?
If it is a last ditch effort (as the name suggests) would it be appropriate to have a long cooldown on all moves after using it (like not being able to attack for 10 seconds)
Do you guys hate to use it, or ache to use it?

A bit of both ive used it in pvp in a friendly duel and shocked the guy i was dueling with, he thought he had me on the ropes and my health was really so i hit last ditch and he fell over incapped this is the only time it has ever worked for me despite using it many times.
If i use last ditch its because i have to its not a tactic i would force myself to use or allow someone to beat me down so i can use it effectively i will use it if i have no other choice and even then from my experience it rarely works.

/throw pie. /fling melon. /guzzle beer. *BURRRP*
it is truely a last ditch effort.
there's no need for a cooldown because the attack leaves us either incapped, or with less than 10 points of Health, Action, and Mind.
we don't hate to use it, but we don't use it as an offensive attack. it's a last ditch, a gamble, something to fall back on but never to rely on.
we love it for what it is though, because it's pure Smuggler. the very essence of the ability is the same essence as Smuggler.

since when is educating myself starting crap? better to get it from the horse's mouth no?

Because it's always the same with these posts from Jedi. First they try to act innocent "Hey, just asking a question.", then they start talking about how it's overpowered and unfair (usually they're ignorant of how the move really works), or they'll try to suggest ways to "fix" it as if it were broken, then the next thing you know, they're on the Jedi forums saying how Smugglers need to be nerfed.
If that's not your intent, fine. But since you already started talking about how to "fix" it (cooldown timer idea) I kinda doubt it.

k, I was just curious about the need for a cooldown timer. lol I'll take your word that it leaves you on your ass though.

lol if theyre ignorant about how it works then by all means educate them.
If a Jedi wanders into this forum and asks about a special that may concern him and gets jumped all over hes gonna think "wow they really really dont want it changed, it MUST be uber!!"
you'd be surprised how much grief a little bit of patience and education would save you.

I'll be kind and reply. The only time a smuggler uses this skill is when they are about to DIE. How could it be anything other than a true last ditch effort.
Secondly, all three stats (health, action, and mind) are taken down to effectively nothing. In addition to the actual cooldown of the special, smugglers will only have 50 health and zero action and mind, which means they cannot attack with another special nor can they heal.
As loaded as your last question is, I find myself using it only on occasion just when I happen to think about it before I die, which isn't very often.
In order to truly and effectively use Last Ditch, you have to 1) commit yourself to putting yourself in a comprimising situation where you are clearly going to die and 2) know that you might not time the move correctly or miss, resulting in your unescapable death. As a seasoned player, my first instinct is to run from a dangerous situation, not staying on a lucky move.
Take what you will from that last paragraph. I think it will be more than enough of the answer you came here to seek.
