I cant take this much longer.
At one point The "whats on Deck" says:
Dantooine:
- Tier 2+, Specific story missions for all pilots, rebel pilots, and smuggler pilots.
These people are NOT smugglers (or so we have been assured),
Talus:
- Players wishing to receive missions from this station must be a ground Smuggler of Alliance or Privateer faction.
Clearly the DEVs are treating Smuggling in space as something completely unrelated to the ground smuggler profession. HOW CAN THEY SEE THIS AS GOOD THING!?

We've been fighting this fight for a week now...(actually, since JtL Beta...but anyway)...
I just don't have it in me anymore to comment...

Was getting ready to post on this myself.
First, we were told that Privateers were not Smugglers. Now the Devs are flip flopping on us again. What the crap...again!?
And I'd still like the Talus station clarification. What the Hell is "ground Smuggler of Alliance or Privateer faction"? Can you just be a Privateer? Do you have to be in the smuggler's Alliance? Or what!?
I am honestly convinced that the Developers are either testing us, are Hell bent on getting rid of us/combining Privateer and Smuggler, or a combination of both.
They've either denied us what we need or ignored us and now they're determined to take the only thing we've got left...our damn name.

I've been trying very hard to keep an optomistic view this time around (this being approx. the 347th round of empty promises)
...But I'm done. They aren't even trying to meet us half way here, and I'm begining to think they are purposely trying to frustrate us.

Too true Indy.
There's only 2 possible explainations I can think of:
- They either don't listen to us or don't find our complaints valid enough to care. Or..
- They're tired of being proven wrong and not being able to get away with their crap without complaints and they're out to just tick us off.
Or a third, scarier, insane scheme......to eleminate this profession as something that needs work and simply have Privateers be the "new" smugglers.

To me, it seems that you have to be a Privateer pilot or a Rebel Alliance pilot, combined with being a Smuggler in the ground game. It actually looks like they got the prerequisites for those missions right.

Yes, Talus missions ARE finally real-Smuggler-like-you-and-me content, with the restriction that Imperial pilots can't take them.
So we finally got some content, peoples! Content! Smuggler specific content! Ok so it is a far cry from a revamp, but still. It is a start.
That little fact seem to have been fairly lost in the uproar about the other stations giving "smuggling" missions to Privateers part of the *wince* Smuggler Alliance. But the Talus missions are actually a GOOD news, not us being shafted again. No?

Question I have is whether or not these missions are actual smuggling. As in, loading up your "cargo hold" and running stuff from location A to B, while avoiding getting killed, and not Privateer missions where you follow your cargo around in another ship as an escort. Me, I like to have the cargo in my ship, not in the hold of someone else I can't completely control or don't fully trust (it's a RP thing
).
I know thatanyone can dock and get "stuff" (for lack of a better term), and I haven't found a jettison cargo button/command/option, so I doubt we can dump anything we pick up.Also, unless it is mission related, I haven't been able to figure out what can be done with it. It would be cool to be able to "jettison cargo" and either lose faction or get abounty (the bounty would depend on a number of factors: Smuggler level, level of mission, type of cargo, etc.).
Ah well...here's to dreaming

That I can't answer. I hope they are interesting and actually related to Smuggling.
