Thread: You still want those cybernetics?

After reading the friday feature, I must say that I would never willingly get one of those horrid looking things attached to me...

Then I read the part about having one attached to me against my will. Now that wouldn't upset me so much if they weren't trying to say that I get another "real" arm reattached instead of just saying that I get a better or more realistic looking arm/pair of legs attached.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Those are just pathetic!

I sure hope we can wear clothing over them. While I may want the bonuses I sure don't want to be seen like that!

This is going to be the next 'pre-combat buf'. Everyone that wants to be competitive will have cyborg limbs. SWG will become CWG.

Cybernetics will be temporarily attached to a character, giving the appearance of a cybernetic limb. These cybernetic limbs, while equipped, will take up a full weapon/armor slot replacing armor for that particular slot. A savvy player will have to decide which to use, armor or an enhanced cybernetic limb for that armor slot. The trade-offs between having a cybernetic limb or not will be a challenge. For tactical reasons a player may want to give up a few points of armor in return for a special burst-run ability or a powerful attack.

You have to read carefully... But still, I'm glad too. They are a little oogly. But some people won't care if it gives them an edge.

Temporary is one of my biggest problems with it. I know it's a bit stupid to take issue over this, but I do take issue with it.

They really need to come up with a different way to say this instead of trying to say that you can get a frackin arm reattached. If that was possible, then why in the hell would Luke have kept his cybernetic hand all those years... and that's another thing... I might be interested in a hand, but definitely not one of those attrocious things.

God god. Those. Are. Ugly.

I mean really. I'm a big blue fish. I'm not a picture of what one might call style and beauty. But damn.... I'd rather not have an arm. I don't care if it gives me the Shield Breaker ability, or adds electric damage to my unarmed attacks. It looks like .

It's so.... drastic. Man. God. ...

Well its true that dying sounds worse than ever. I don't want to wake up with a useless arm. I'm sure thats exactly why it was added. But don't mind me too much. Its Friday and that makes me... happy all by itself.

I think cooler looking limbs should be added. Maybe they will later. Probably.

When you have one installed do you get your flesh & blood arm put in your inventory?

Yeah the 'temporary' thing is odd. I think it would be far more interesting to make it permanent...except for the dying and not having cloned part.

Or maybe if you want your flesh arm back it has to grow back real slowly so initially it's this little pasty white stumpy thing that is useless for holding any 2h weapon.

So I understand that it replaced armor but what about wearing clothing? Will clothing cover it up? And what about legs and arms? They both looked like they went from the shoulder or hip all the way down...that would be up to 3 armor slots for the arm and2 for the leg. I can't imagine a cybernetic bicep then the forearm and hand being flesh. Seems like some details they aren't telling us.

I still want one.
Besides, those probably aren't all the styles out there.

I agree. If we had a cyber arm that looked cool (These look like they came from "Robots") that you could put inplants in and then let the inplants wear out it and be replaced, it would be much better. I mean, what happens once the cyber arm wears out? Your real arm grows back? You have no arm at all?

No way, the arms look, no offence to anyone, retarded; totally disproportioned to the body.

Sweet something of somewhere else!!

i gotta go with the Fish on this one... bein' a wook is hard enough.. but when you get cloned.. and walk out with that metal toothpik instead of an arm.... it's almost worth the unberable agony of ripping the damn thing out, and beating whatever fleshmonky decided that just because i forgot to insure my body against organ-leggers i deserve to lose an arm!!

The way they made the torso of the player look was one of the worst parts about it... Two arms were even worse... and the legs!... I won't even get into how the legs looked lol...

Speaking of the legs... It's obvious there's no such thing as a cybernetic crotch!
