Thread: You still want those cybernetics?

After reading the friday feature, I must say that I would never willingly get one of those horrid looking things attached to me...
Then I read the part about having one attached to me against my will. Now that wouldn't upset me so much if they weren't trying to say that I get another "real" arm reattached instead of just saying that I get a better or more realistic looking arm/pair of legs attached.
First of all I must say that I do not use the insurance terminals at the cloners. I see no need to because if insure my items or not they always seem decay when I die (PvE or PvP). Why bother tossing hard earned credits into the insurance cr sink/scam.
On TC3 (Ahazi) one of my Ahazi toons is a Female Twi'lek TKM/Master Ent/Master Dancer (from Ahazi)
anyhow, I was on Dant (which is where my house is), when I loged on,I decided to travel to the MO (about 1500m away)to go to Theed. Igot triple in-capped and DB'd on the way there (to the MO).
Well to make a long story short, Icloned with a pair of thoes fugly tin legs. And it looks like it is a permanant thing (on TC3).
To see if maybe insuring and cloning would remove my cybernetic legs, I jad a Jedi strike me down and DB me. Well it didn't work.
You don't want to know how freaking ridiculous a Female Twi'let Dancer with metal legs andwaistlooks while dancing, not to mention the fact that I could not wear anything that goes on my legs (pants, shorts, skirts, shoes, boots). =(
Oops double post, sry.

Second, it won't really affect pvp, with the exception of the legs, but thats only if the person plans on running away a lot. seriously, i mean dammit, there's bigger issues, like the fact that the Deathhammer comes out of the factory with a base damage of STUN, which doesn't exist any more. I tested it, the gun does ZERO damage with any special. States don't even apply.

SAY WHAAAAAAT!?!?
Your pulling my cybernetic legs, right?

So will 90% of the AFK Coronet cantina 'Entertainers'...

Read Dallet... my droids have rotating-turret nether regions for broad applications. *cough* Nevermind.
I dig the ugly cybernetics. Reminds me of the Soviet borgware from Cyberpunk. It's not supposed to look cool, it's supposed to look like a 'tarded replica. I hope. The chromed classy stuff will probably be another expansion.
I just hope the 'bonus' attacks don't suck. I'd like my trando jedi to have a metal arm, since I can't wear armor anyway, but it'd be nice to actually get some use out of it.
On a side note, I hope everyone notices another subtle reason for a) cybernetics and b) faceplated armor.
It'll reduce the volume of information needed to be communicated between client and server. Faceplated armor means that everyone's face renders just about the same way, from one of a small finite set of possibilities. Arms and legs will go the same way.
The legs look hideous though, yeah.

Yeah the 'temporary' thing is odd. I think it would be far more interesting to make it permanent...except for the dying and not having cloned part.
