Thread: What have you done ingame to improve smuggler content?

I hang to some standard rules when being among people:
- /bye and /greet are only used for close friends. I tend to /nod at people.
- I walk. I always walk.I never run(unless I am forced to).Chicken run. Smugglers walk.
- when meeting with new "customers" for the fist time, I tend to be a few minutes early, walk around the agreed meeting place to check the situation, then walking past the waiting customer once while checking him out with some emotes. You never know when the empire is out to get you. If you can, bring some cronies (friends) to hang around in the vicinity in an /angry mood.
- deals are done in parks, deserted streets (with more than one possible escape route) or cantina backrooms. The latter applies only to long time "customers", because there's usually only one way out...
At least once a week I tend to visit the cantina in Mos Eisley. When walking(see above) through the bar, I tend to /nod and /smirk at some NPC's while eyeing others suspiciously. Before disappearing into the backroom I throw an eye or two on the twinsandlet out a muffled "The usual, Wuher".
I simply try to create an aura of, well, let's call it superiority. You need to be cool. Everybody should always be aware that you may have justanother ace up your sleeve.

I myself just have a little network of 'accomplices' (you know who you are) andhave gotteninto the business of testing potential couriers for myemployer's more legal operations...

Tbh I haven't done that much, but I have gone as far as getting some black pants, boots, waistcoat and a white shirt so I look like Han Solo hehe.
I've also opened a vendor which sells smuggler tools for what I think are very reasonable prices (locked containers/clamps 5.5k, Auk/Wuk 5k, survival knifes 2k and laser knifes 1.5k), many a time I go home and find a novice smuggler or three grinding slicing on my sofa's

ive been a smuggler for a long long time. and it suits my personality to a T, so i dont have to Rp at all... i wear lots of black clothes and things because i like it =) also goes with my personality, i have alot ofoutfits because hey! smugglers should look the part. i also dont ever walk around with my master smuggler tag above my head, thats just silly. so only people that know me know im a smuggler... my Guild calls me their Han Solo because im kind of a wise-ass, and most peoplewho know me know im a funny guy as all smugglers should be.cant help it, im like that in RL, i sit in a dark corner in every cantina i go into. i have special meeting places and places i go tolay lowwhen things get too rough, i usually use tells and guildchat when i am with my friends =)
so in short the smuggler feeling for me is still there and will always be there. i actually (because of my personality in RL) cant picture myself as any other proffesion. ive wanted smuggler since i started the game over a year ago and i will stay a smuggler forever. my friends in-game wouldnt have it any other way.... did i mention my character is usually a hit with the ladies? =)

I wear black pants with a gold or red stripe (Been going back and forth on whether I want the red as the Corellian Bloodstripe, for roleplaying purposes) a black jacket, andmy old Imperial Uniform boots from the Academy... I keep aSpec-Ops Duster and some other clothes in a satchel though, because Ilike to look different fromtime to time...
I never, ever, wear my composite armor outside of high-level combat areas, in fact, I don't even walk around with myblaster out. (I've got my 3 best pistols, of different damage types, each on a hot-key on the second row of my tool bar. Very handy, especially considering my tool bar is kind of light since so many Pistoleer skills don't work right.)
I never advertise slicing and lately I've taken to doing business in a place with four solid walls and a backdoor whenever possible... i.e. cantina's. I'm always friendly, but I always keep my eye onnew customers, I know my regulars well enough to trust them, at least as long as their money holds out.I'm usually pretty discreet and whisper theresults on their equipment. For now I'm mainly a Slicer, but I have every intention of doing plenty of "Freelance Cargo Delivery"once I get my own ship.
I havethree droids, not counting my MSE Bomb Droids... a junk R5 that I made the mistake of buying from the Jawa's, a fidgety little bucket of bolts that I just haven't gotten around to getting rid of. A newer R2 unit I got second hand from some guy in Anchorhead. Last but not least, my LE Repair Droid, it's helped me evade Stormtroopers and even fight them off, if only I could figure out a way to get it to hold a blaster rifle. Eventually when I get my own ship it'll be right there as my co-pilot, but until then it just complains about all of my bad habits and how mistreated it is... which it's not, I swear. Trust me, never, EVER, buy a droid that wasprogrammed bya failed comedian.
I've been known as a regular at Jabba's Palace, and always give him a deep bow to show my respect... we all know how easy Hutt's are to flatter, and it's always nice to have friends in low, low places. I don't trust him any further than I can throw him though...
Wow, I went on a lot more than I was planning to... oh well, hope it gave at least some insight into my operations, without going completely off topic.

Well, either red or gold is good for the BloodStripe, just indicates a different level of accomplishment.
First level is red, Second is Gold, and the Gold is supposed to be fairly rare. Han Solo got his Gold BloodStripes due to the help he gave in the destruction of the Death Star.
Note: Even the first level of BloodStripe, is typically given out post humously.

Can one of you explain just what the bloodstripes are? I know I've heard of them before but i never got the story behind them...

Corellian BloodStripes are like badges of Honor, bestowed upon Native Born Corellians who've been in very tight situations, and came out on top, or gave thier lives to fight for what they believe in, and suceeded in thier cause. Hense the reason most are given out after death.
The BloodStripes themselves are simple tubing lining the pants on the sides.
I had a Tailor friend of mine make me a Rebel Uniform, and got the second level stripes on the pants. I'll see about taking a pic of the uniform and posting it in here.
Better yet, the pic I gave her to use to design it should still be on the web.

Well, Corellia is known for
- Corellian Engineering Corporation(CEC), which makes such ships as the YT-1300, the majority of thier stock ships are very modular and easily upgradable.
- Being the home planet of one Smuggler known as Han Solo.
- The place where the Corellian Treaty and the Rebel Alliance was formed.
Among other things.

I only wish I could take credit for that line, it's actually a rewrite of the line Dash Rendar said about his LE Repair Droid, Leebo, in thebook Shadows of the Empire.
