Just wondering if the other master smugglers would like to raise the prices for slicing. Currently we are making as much as the lvl 4 guys and they are getting alot of business for the stupid slicer tag. I think if we raise or our prices people will not only pay it we will get more business from people asking why it costs more and then explaining that we give the best slices. I think this will help word get out and more people will look for masters.

Current pricing thought is 200 credits per % point forbase effectivnessand 300 credits per % point for encumbrence on armor

Then say 250 credits per % for weapons either speed or damage.

Just a thought

P.S. this thread is for tempest master smugglers, I already know if you aren't one you are gonna complain.

Under 20% = 1k, no more freebies

who says we have to eat the knives and clamps because of bad luck

I'm not complaining, I'm just calling you a hypocrite.

For someone who has been where all of the non-masters are, you sure forget your roots.

Oh, and if "Slicers" get all the business, then use your freakin "Slicer" title. You do have one you know.

Sheesh. Enough of this rant already. You getting worse than me.

300 creds/% is pushing it. slicing isnt worth THAT much. but i would agree with 150/%. only problem with that is its more complicated to calculate and makes things more difficult for no reason. i think the 100c/% is fine or u can just give them a flat rate of 3k per item lets say. i usually slice (or sliced that is **edit** holos) for 2.5k flat rate and 2k per item if they had a couple of items. If someone charged me 7.5k for a 25% slice id bitch slap the hell out of em, wouldnt you? lol

I agree and disagree with it..

First of all, slicing is invaluable. We could raise our prices to 1000cr per % and people would smile and pay.

Secondly, masters raising their prices helps keep the economy in check. Masters slice better, so it makes sense for us to charge higher!

Say you've got 10,000 credits. You walk into a cantina and a master smuggler and a slicer are both slicing. both charging the same price-100cr per %-If you want the better slice, you're obviously going with the master. The slicer isn't going to get a penny unless the master is too flooded and people don't feel like waiting.

Now, let's say the master is charging 200cr per %... You don't have a whole lot of money. You don't want to blow it all, so who would you go with? Obviously the slicer.

if Master Smugglers raise their prices a bit, it will balance the economy. It makes sense.

I think 300cr per % is a little pricey though. Even 200cr is pushing it. I currently charge for 150cr per % for the whole 24 hours I've been a master smuggler, lol. no complaints yet

I can't count how many times whereI've been spamming "Slicing weapons and armor for 100cr per %" as a slicer and get a crowd, and then a master smuggler walks by saying the exact same thing and the crowd runs away and chases him. I've even had people ask for their guns back when masters come within view.

I didn't really read any of the other posts, or even carefully the original so sorry if it seems a little uninformed hehe

Charge what you are comfortable with. There is no shortage of slicing business. People have a "favorite" smuggler not because of price but because of personality and presentation. Price is not the deciding factor on who gets the job.

Its real easy I'm charging 5k per item armor or weapon regarless of % people are paying it no more time wasting adding up slice amount andno more free slices.

Say what you want about how I'll lose business but as of today all my regulars are paying and I'm getting plenty more business.

And this is with 3 or 4 other slicers spamming their 100 credit per % lol. I love it. Even with my so called outrageous price people would rather me slice for them.

Slicing is a neccessity for these people. They are hooked. We have gottenthem hooked with the 100 credit per % now just like drug dealers time to pay to play.

Err good luck getting customers if you go with that plan.

The rest of us masters will stick with the tried and true 100cr/%inc. I'm sure. Why we would get more business would be customer satisfaction and the way we treat customers - not how much we charge.

man 5k a slice? thats kinda harsh on the wallet. i just became a master smuggler a week ago and i make roughly 150k in about 3 hours from slicing alone. the clamps and knives cost little to nothing to make. its like what 90 metal for 1 clamp and like 20 for 1 knive with 10 charges? and it dont matter the resource? I charge a flat rate of 2k per weapon and 2.5k per armor piece. this is more then enough to cover the production costs and make a hefty profit. not to mention im very kind, curteous, and most of all trustworthy with my customer base in that i get my 2k per weapon plus a usually hefty tip. Also selling crates of muon on the side for 8k is also not a bad deal. anyways i make plenty of credits to get what i want and at the same time i feel im not price goughing my customers. I just wish most weaponsmiths/armorsmiths would do the same and lower there prices to reasonable levels. i mean i saw a composite armor piece for 500k! and then a almost identical one from a different smith for 80k.

100cr per % is a joke and I laugh at anyone charging that much .

I charge 5k per slice . Even that isnt high enough and Im still hounded with /tells for slices .

I can make more money slicing stuff and selling it myself.

For example I can buy a krayt weapons - slice it for 30% and sell it for 5x the price .

Or sell sliced enc composite for 3x the price .

I dont need to slice other peoples stuff , thus they pay a high price for my time or go elsewhere.

You don't seem to realize most people will pay anything for a slice. Especially a master slice. Armorsmiths, Weaponsmiths, and the other Elite crafters fetch a premium price for their goods why would you want to undervalue your services. I don't care if it cost 1 credit to make clamps and knives and uks. For all the work it takes to master smuggler there should be a payoff. By charging 5k a slice I'm getting that payoff.

People must have slices. If someone is gonna buy a suit of comp for 200-400k what's another 45k for getting it sliced. Same with weapons. Think of it like a permanent power up lasting the duration of the weapon. I'd pay 5k for a permanent powerup and so will the customers.

I say let all the slicers dicker and argue for % pricing I won't do it.
