Thread: Master Smuggler Slicing Prices
Since hitting master here's my price breakdown.
Armor: 100cr per %
Weapons: 200cr per %
No charge under 15%
(The reason for this is due to the fact that most people want you to slice a full set of armor, at least in my experience, weapons generally come one or two at a time.)
I've had _one_ person say my pricing was steep and tried to haggle with me. I let him know I wasn't hurting for business and he was welcome to find another master smuggler.
Kinda like people not respecting what artisans charge... ("Ooo... I saw %TT sell it for 9k, not 11k" "Then buy it from him")

Just wondering if the other master smugglers would like to raise the prices for slicing. Currently we are making as much as the lvl 4 guys and they are getting alot of business for the stupid slicer tag. I think if we raise or our prices people will not only pay it we will get more business from people asking why it costs more and then explaining that we give the best slices. I think this will help word get out and more people will look for masters.
Current pricing thought is 200 credits per % point forbase effectivnessand 300 credits per % point for encumbrence on armor
Then say 250 credits per % for weapons either speed or damage.
Just a thought
P.S. this thread is for tempest master smugglers, I already know if you aren't one you are gonna complain.
Under 20% = 1k, no more freebies
who says we have to eat the knives and clamps because of bad luck
Charge what you want to. People will come or go someplace else. But trying to get the smugglers of a whole server to change their price? HA! Good luck. I'd underprice you just to spite you.
as master smuggler we make good money at slicing and muon. sure, raise the price, then be sure everythingraises. the artisans will say we make too much, the weaponsmith will say the slice costs more than the crafting, experimenting and runnin factory with all kind of stuffs for a FWG5.....and the weapon costs will rise..........
i feel perfect fine set with 100cr./%. i make really nice money. and if i slice 5 or more pieces of armor: 10% discount. or 22k flat.
since i harvest myself water, radio, steel, copper - i sell muon 7k a crate - and fast.....
and if i see any master near me charging 150/% - then i will follow him all day, advertising 75/%....enjoy that...its a joke to say that must be done.
I beg you all.....stop beating this poor dead horse. Charge what you like....let others do the same.

I don't know about slicing on Tempest, but on Naritus I find that the all of my steady income comes from people who already know Master Smugglers get higher slices. My regulars know the difference between Slice IV and Master slicing and they are my bread and butter. If you are a starport spammer I guess you can include that info in your advert, to try and lure customers away from the Slice IV smugglers. But I don't feel like punishing my regular customers by raising prices just because a few uninformed people might be going elsewhere for slices.
You can't monopolize ALL the customers on your server. Some people are just going to go elsewhere and that's that.
