Looks to me like the csr was talking about just using a pup after a slice, he probably doesnt does about the exploit.

This pretty easy, the system already tries to remove pup's before a slice so you can tkae that to mean it's not meant for pups to be there.

Wether or not you get banned for it is kinda secondary an exploit is an exploit and can only do harm.

This I understand most deffinatly, My issue is that if some "Newer" person asks a CSR after someone askes him to do it and they say oh yea its cool. then the person does it they are opeing themsleves up for a possible ban without even knowing. and as we have seen with the credit dupes people can be a **edit** enough to do something like that to a newbie.

hmm if this is an exploit, then there's a lot of Slicers on Kettemoor who are in deep poo-doo. As I see a great deal of this pup slicing going on and the weapons are being sold on the open market for as much as a couple of million credits a pop.

Caylin, I realise you've said that Taurin has told you it's an exploit, but could you prompt a dev to come here and actually post the final answer and put a rest to this subject, please? As I've been tempted to purchase a set of these vk's that've had this slice done to them on a few occasions, but have not been sure of the facts on whether it's an exploit or not. Many Smugglers i know have said it's not an exploit and i've never seen anyone confirm it is in game. Before i waste my hard earned credits on a weapon that could be deleted for being exploited, I would rather make damn sure one way or the other that it is or isn't an exploit.

So report them, and quite frankly if I found you slicing with PUPs, I would report you.

thanks for doing that, and especially for dropping the other CSR's name. I do agree that the original poster didn't phrase the question in the clearest way possible, but it's also very likely that CSR Brettwhatever honestly wasn't aware of the situation.

Hopefully everyone starts getting the same memos over there.

Yeah, scenarios like this are why I /log all my chat when slicing, that way, I have the information that I need on the people, and I can give it to a CSR if needed, because I will and have reported people.

So one thing has changed : MANY MANY PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT PU SLICING ALREADY AND DEMAND IT.

Agreed. In a lot of ways this reminds me of the cross-species hair bug that plagued Image Designers for a while—while the bug itself may not be viewed as as much of an exploit as this, it hurt the business of honest Image Designers in much the same way as this is hurting the business of honest smugglers (/blink … did I just say honest smugglers? I must not be awake yet ) This really does need fixed. Maybe they can do it while they're changing slicing with crated components back the way it should be. …and maybe I shouldn't hold my breath on that one.
