Although I have heard rumors from sources at the fanfest that it's not all about Jedi; to be fair, all have have seen IS Jedi content, and pictures of Jedi.....

Yeh, It's not all for Jedi (although a lot of it seems Jedi related in a way.. Obi-Wan and what have you), not by a long shot. I think it's simply LucasArts (as they handle marketing and the names of things) not being in touch at all with the players and certain sensitive issues that are prevalent right now (namely Jedi themselves).

This is not a "Jedi" expansion, however it does look like it will have more Jedi related loot then ROTW, but that doesn't mean anything other then what I just said.


What I like is the new expansion won't be instanced like ROTW, which is the one thing I don't like about ROTW.


As far as the screenshots, as Wes said this is just a marketing ploy by SOE, no offence to anyone but new players will be inticed by a picture ofa saber weilding jedi, they aren't going to look at those pictures and wonder where the rifleman, swordsman or smugglers are. New players want to be jedis, its how it is, and SOE is smart to market it that way.

Only one thing can save this expansion, that being HK-47.


Actually, two things. God lets hope the Jedi get their FRS. Why do a I want jedi Content?


Because there is then the slim chance that Jedi will stop whining. and then,We may get what we want. Of course this will never happen, Jedi will find a problem with the best FRS system and whine whine whine.

I think there is one good aspect of this expansion that could be shiny if implemented in a manner that's more far reaching than just a few dialogue options; namely, the choices you make that have consequences in the game world (namely how Obi-Wan treats you).

Hopefully this will, as said, be further reaching and set a precedent for things to come.

I care nothing about Obi-Wan. I care nothing about Jedi. I care nothing about 'Pre-Order Gifts'...


With that said...will this new expansion improve my gameplay? And if so, how? And no...talking about 'cool' Jedi quests and 'At least its NEW content!' type responses will not work. Why should I buy another expansion, unless it actually is directed at ALL of us in aMAJOR manner? Jedi, Artisans, Entertainers, CH, Smugglers, etc? All of us? Not some token 'quest pistol' and furniture decorations...but REAL, MAJOR content...

That would be very intresting. I Mean, It could be something as simple as the Light/darkside or Evil/good Meter. I mean, I don't expect the Devs to Implement it on the regular townsfolk, that would be quite a bit of work, but Important NPC's respect you or disrespect you for your choices. Obi-wan would obviously not like you if you were Full evil, but To neutrals he would try to shove over to the light. If something like that ever happened, it just may be the saving grace of the game, It made KOTOR Dialogue and such intresting, so why not here?

This has been a major concern for a lot of game players. How many players are going to be willing to pay for an expansion that has content they cannot access (Jedi)? Content should be a matter of choice to access quests, not completely barred. Choice to go Jedi? Well, the last time I checked, thecombat XP exchange got a serious stealthnerf which makes anyone's 'choice' to access that part of the game a 10x longer grind (what fun...not). What was the point? Over half the player population already have Jedi, although I believe many do not use their Jedi toons as much as others.Given that there is a large Jedi base, that is where content will be directed....it certainly will not be directd to the likes of CH, dancers, artisan, etc...


Yes, it would have been nice to have a well rounded expansion, but it does not appear to be this one coming up. One would think that the $15.00/mon we pay would help actually beef up the exsisting game for all professions, but that is not so. I expect any fix we get for broken professions like smuggler, commando, etc., will cost me $20.00+ expansion pack #9 or so. Maybe I am too hopeful.
