Thread: The new expansion IS the Jedi trials.....
Ishiro wrote:This is not a "Jedi" expansion, however it does look like it will have more Jedi related loot then ROTW, but that doesn't mean anything other then what I just said. What I like is the new expansion won't be instanced like ROTW, which is the one thing I don't like about ROTW.As far as the screenshots, as Wes said this is just a marketing ploy by SOE, no offence to anyone but new players will be inticed by a picture of a saber weilding jedi, they aren't going to look at those pictures and wonder where the rifleman, swordsman or smugglers are. New players want to be jedis, its how it is, and SOE is smart to market it that way.
You know, amazingly SWG sold plenty of copies and did just fine at release with no Jedi in any of the advertising, and every bit of information about the game mention that while it may be possible to become a Jedi, it would be extremely rare.
Everyone does not want to be a Jedi. That is just the excuse Jedi use to help justify their existence.
And sorry, this expansion (at least in everything that has been seen) is about Jedi and for Jedi.

With that said...will this new expansion improve my gameplay? And if so, how? And no...talking about 'cool' Jedi quests and 'At least its NEW content!' type responses will not work. Why should I buy another expansion, unless it actually is directed at ALL of us in a MAJOR manner? Jedi, Artisans, Entertainers, CH, Smugglers, etc? All of us? Not some token 'quest pistol' and furniture decorations...but REAL, MAJOR content...
If its new content anyone can do, then it *IS* directed at "all of us".. But not everyone cares about new content unless its specific to their own profession..
Yeah, I'm still pissed that Rage of the Wookies was all about Wookies and left every other race out of it. I mean who wants to be a Wookie anyways?

A revamped Kessel system...Hoth, anyone?
maybe if both we're instanced or just small battlefield like portion.
both planets are very barren, Kessel has a completely dark mine and hoth is just snow. aside from one battle being fought there, it's empty.
now Nar Shadda or Ord Mantell would be cool additions. should be plenty to do on them.

You know, you could wait and see for more info about the Obi-Wan expansion instead of assuming its just Jedi's. Speculation will do nothing BUT make you angrier and angrier, and really is that fun?
There is a difference between 'baseless speculation' and 'long-standing track record'. And weALL know the track record. Therefore its not too difficult to look ahead and see what this new expansion is all about. I mean, its not like the title itself doesn't give it away. *eyeroll*
I am not planning to buy this expansion until I know what it gives me that I don't already have. If it is a JEDI expansion with some slop for the rest of us it will not get to my hard drive.
I have been playing since just after the orginal launch and pre order both JTL and ROTW. Lesson learned. JTL was ok, ROTW was and still is a mess. I like playing solo or small group. And a JEDI is a solo so there is hope, although I gave up on that path, just not any fun - for me no role to play. At least as a smuggler I have always been able to be the I will get it for you by hook or crook.
Yeah, how stupid is that?
