Thread: Venting on something non GCW!

I know I seem to be doing a lot of venting lately, but for some reason I didn't realise something til now... You can't surrender Jedi skills once you unlock. (I know this isn't the forum for this.) Now unlocking the second slot isn't so appealing since I won't be able to go triple threat after that. A little bit of a bummer.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

I had that realization about a month ago and it bummed me out for a long time so I feel your pain. I wanted to unlock get triple threat back (because yim is yim a smuggler and scoundrel not a freaking 1/2 breed jedi) and then make a BH who I would lvl as high to jedi as I could go but still keep investigation 3just so I could kill jedi with their own light sabers, my plan was pure genus.I cant tell you the lvl of bum that hit me, and Im still none to happy about it.

It bummed me too, made me drop the idea of going jedi althogether.

But I see the logic: they don't want peoples to go Jedi only to get that second slot then drop it, effectively having two non Jedi character. Since they want the second slot to be only for thoses who have a Jedi, the justification for the hard life, non-consentual pvp, etc.

I really don't see the logic. People put the same effort whether they want to be a Jedi or not. Guess I'll just be an FS Smuggler who won't ever get visibility since I refuse to use a LS. At least I can pick up some ranged modifiers to make up for the pistoleer I'm not going to be able to have with 24 FS skill points.

I'm gonna go hide now since I know some people aren't going to like the idea of a FS Smuggler.

I see what you mean Zane.

But I think the main point of their logic is that Jedi are the only ones who get non-concentual PvP (granted they get on the BH terms by their own action, but from the Devs point of view it is non concentual PvP, the same way the actual "shoot a stormie, go overt" is. )

because of that and the insane grind etc they decided long ago to give as a perk a second slot to thoses who commited to the Jedi path. But they don't want peoples to do all that grind just to unlock the slot then dump the Jedi.

I am not saying I agree with them on that, just explaining what I think is the "logic" behind that decision.

It bummed me too, I would not have minded a second slot that I can go Jedi with, but I don't want to turn Laffy into a Jedi! Or, if I want my second slot, i would have to go Jedi with Laffy and then grind again Smuggler and whatever else on that new slot character. ah well.

That's the thing, I'll never turn Zane into a Jedi, so I'm just going to be burning 24 skill points. I'm never going to equip a lightsaber so I won't have to worry about visibility. Now if Smuggler bounties never come, I may do it just to get a BH to hunt me. Gotta create your own content sometimes I guess.
