Thread: Major money farming even in SWG?
When the lair bug was live I caught a glimpse of a herd of players doing this.
It was kind of eerie.
Worst I ever saw was the adena farmers in Lineage 2. Adena is the currency in L2...and EVERYTHING drops some. The trick is, it doesn't automatically get deposited in your inventory...it drops on the ground and you have a 5 or 10 second window to claim it, after that, it's fair game for whoever comes along. So, if you kill from range, and don't immediately run and pick up your drop, odds are someone else will be there to grab it.
It was insane. And you could always tell that it was a farming ring because they all spoke Chinese, and they all had the same label...just adding numbers (Shadow1, Shadow2, Shadow3, Shadow 200, etc.)
The saving grace in Lineage though was that you could smack them and make them go away. And once you got into some of the higher end areas they thinned out. They mostly plagued the newbie areas...
More on subject...
Back before the CU, if I had nothing better to do, and was watching something on TV or was otherwise indisposed. I would set my guy up outside town on one of the Meatlump spawns with a loot macro running. I could make 60k-70k an hour, and just check in on my character every 10 or 15 minutes or so...
So, cred farming is very doable...
I started a money farm. I have been able to genetically engineer common Maple trees to sprout $5s. Once the trees grow larger, they will eventually spit out larger denominations until they produce $100s. I have planted 40 of such trees.
And I have also been able to make pigs grow wings! lol

We have a group of low level n00b rifleman that run around on Intrepid. They have been banned from a number of player cities. Probably the worst part about what they are doing is the fact that they walk every where and use a speed hack. They have been clocked out running FR3 Jedi and swoops.
There was even one cloaked Jedi that dragged a level 80+ mob on them that killed them all. LOL
What's that?
Ban stick incoming eh. Well, I'll see you guys in a week...

AFK a meatlump spawn... a good one, and you can crank em out.
running some calculations, if you AFK'd 30 alts, minus the monthly expenses (internet, cable modem), you could pull in like 45 grand a year.
I imagine if there's a way to make more money AFK then your profit goes up, or you can use less alts...
Also, Imagine if, in addition to this, you regularly took just one of them, and went and quested, got a quest item, and sold it...
cyber arms... grievous fighters.
Cash money allstars y'all.
Or, you can join the UAW

ne'er seen one myself, that I know of. But that's such a crazy ass thing. ingenious, but crazy. Little sad too that there's a kajillion dollar a year market in imaginary money....
Gee.. I wonder why SOE wants to get in on the market with that Station Exchange stuff ![]()
Problem is, I can see the government completely shutting down the vaporware market in short order (and good riddance). The only game-related thing people should be able to sell are their accounts.

That sounds almost as bad as Diablo 2, where there is no window to claim your reward. Even when it was a SOJ or w/e they spammed about. Some kid would lurk around you and wait and then run up andsnag your loot the second it dropped evenwhen you did all the work on the mob. You couldeither get angry and spam themor just find it hilarious because there was no to complain to, or was it that the D2 CSRs spoke korean i think..?
