Thread: Major money farming even in SWG?

Can't miss em..they run around in nothing but boxer shorts doing missions.
It's like a team of crack commando's (well...not so much commando since they are wearing teh boxer shorts), they swoop in do the mish then swoop out. I was impressed when I first saw them, but then I realized that they must not be too bright. For the time they spend doing missions they could take those 100 people, guild up and go do the DWB making mandolorian armor..sell it then sell the credits.
See? This is why we will always be one step ahead of the People's Liberation Credit Farmers Co-Operative.
Except its one player with 7 AFK guys with macros on auto-follow.

The thing is we chould screw them over if we wanted, all it takes is someone of quasi loose character, wait isn't this the smuggler forums...Ok great this is what we do.
These companies aren't protected by the law against fraud for this type of business, at least not practiclly speaking any way. With all the cases of real tangible fraud at the bouro (I sent a TV to X and he didn't pay) that takes care of this stuff, it is almost impossible to get attention for a case that involves the trasfer of FAKE vidoe game currency at least not without getting laughed at.
SO we could each buy 20 mil in credits from one company using a paypal account, and on recieving the credits we all put a stop on our paypal payment. Completly screwing the company, with no chance of legal action...In theory that is.
Sure that would screw over the big guy in charge of the farming - but remember, the little guy who actually is doing the farming is using that to make real money. It's a damned good job in some spots and what's a pittance to us is a buttload to someone else. Moral or not, the credit grinding business is keeping a good number of people fed and housed and - come on - it's fake money. It's not like they're drug cartels.
Do the conversion from US dollars to Chinese currency,
These fellows do very well.

It's a sign of the times that sweatshops are moving towards the tech industry. And yes, carpal tunnel from grinding 10 alts at the same time is a f*ck of a lot better than some of the other stuff they do. You want to know how hazardous the rest of the computer tech sweatshop industry is? Try carcinogenic corrosive solvents without the proper protection...
Yes, as isselling accounts and vaporware (items in addition to virtual money)but it's generally unenforced.
Reason being, while it's against EULAs, it's not against the law -- yet. And it will be against the law eventually, because currently vaporware isn't really taxable income. There aren't any laws for or against vaporware.
The bit about the guy having the Star Wars theme as his doorbell sound got my blood running a bit

Yeh, saw this article a while back.. the really sickening thing is that these people have to grind all day and get paid peanuts for it... oh, wait, some people actually pay to do that.. oh well, apart from the peanuts, it can't be all bad

I've always wondered how much money you could make just by reselling goods in the game. Go Master Merchant, hit up the global vendor search, look for cheap deals - buy them up and mark up the prices on your own vendor.
You'd have to have a good pool of credits to get started, but I bet you could make quite a bit fairly easily. There are people out there that sell stuff pretty cheap if you look hard enough...Even if you just buy up those crap resources that people sell for 1 cpu, and sell them for 2 cpu - you're doing pretty good.
Actually used to do this on a small scale for a while pre CU. I found a vendor that sold crates of weapons...good stuff like T21s, Jawa rifles, stun batons, flamethrowers, etc - all pretty good stats. The crates were marked down so that each weapon was really only costing around 5k - 15k, depending on the weapon. I would buy up the crates, slice them individually and resell them for 10k - 50k, depending on the weapon and slice. Stuff sold really well too.
Then theCU hit, and I got stuck with crates of weapons that nobody really wanted or needed anymore - especially with a 0% slice...but that's a different story.
I bet if somebody really focused on this, they could make a killing.
I've been doing that post-CU. Combine that and my Armorsmithing business, and ya - I was doing well.
