But they do lead to Wild speculation
spotted this over in the Commando boards.
Atm weapons and specials are very restricted (ie Pistols only good for Pistol specials)...when the CU hits, you can bet your best friend that even riflemen skills will improve your overall combat rating if you're a Pistoleer by trade...

yeah, but if you wield a pistol with rifle skills on tuesdays with an odd day-number and then press up-up-down-down-left-right-start on your game pad, you can get two free uber mellons that give you the deadly "Mellon Shot".

If that's the case, that'd lead to even more template stacking than there is currently.

Which reminds me, I've got some pre-Nerf melons that need auctioning. On a related note, do slave collars still exist?

I think what the guy means about the combat rating is how enemies /con against you. You know, a Novice Pistoleer will get at least Yellow against a Storm Trooper where a Master will get White. My guess would be that he means a Master Pistoleer with some points in Rifleman would potentially get that same Storm Trooper to con Dark Blue, instead of White. The reason I'm going out on this limb is because the quote you had didn't say "Combat Effectiveness" but "Combat Rating".
Oh, and if you use the Mellon Shot on the third Peko-Peko Albatross to spawn on a server on the fifth day of the second week in June, your next slice will be perfect. But it has to be a one shot kill, using only Mellon Shot.

I dunno seems to me that either they're changing it so things like ranged accuracy is useful across the board, or like, their will be more things like the Ranged Support tree, Stuff useable by any ranged weapon.
Any Sandy Boxy types want to give this a

I guess they would restrict melee and ranged abilities. So no headshot3 with your VK's, only with that krayted Geo Blaster/uber-carbine
