Thread: Slicing XP?

I just came back to the game after a few months break and now when I slice something it's not adding to my slicing tree...I checked my skill tree and it looks like Slicing now works off Pistol xp? 
So I guess what I wanna know is, am I stuck having to kill things to get Slicing 4 now, and will the upcoming slicing patch possibly fix this so that slicing stuff actually counts towards the slicing tree?

Hello All,
I was slicing a weapon for the 1st time last night and I got Slicing XP.
I cant see where this is used?
Where is slicing xp used?

It's for all us old timers that actually had to use it to go up the slicing branch BCU(before Combat Upgrade). Now the devs kinda have to leave it there so that we don't get screwed on our FS(force sensative) quests if we happen to be one of those smugglers who likes the whole glowy force, buzz buzz, waaa waaa thing. Now back to pie!

Slicing XP is no longer used. Neither is Spice Crafting XP.
Expect a fix for that sometime after the next two Jedi Revamps.

Ive been away from the game since EQII came out and just came back recently. After playing around with the respecc, I ended up a Master Smuggler (which I was before I left). I wne to tthe force village today to turn in some exp and traded all of my slicing exp. I then decided to try the new slicing system with some looted CDEFs and I noticed that I did not get any experience for the slicing. Does the new system eliminate slicing exp (something I hoped to build up and turn in for Force XP)? Can anyone either answer this question or point me towards a post I must have missed that states this?

you still get slicing xp from slicing mimssion terminals

I'm sure there's a more efficient way to get xp to convert to FS xp...

With the Combat Upgrade slicing xp was eliminated. Now all you need is pistol xp. And yes, you still get slicing xp from slicing bases, but i'm pretty sure that's a glitch.

Is anyone getting slicing xp anymore?I was up untillast night, but now post-patch I do not seem to be. Don't remember reading about that in the patch notes and wanted to see if it was just me or what.
