Thread: 40,000 credits for slicing 4 items..........
I had a guy ask me to slice a 10xfactory crate of Power Hammers. I told him 100 creds per % and he agreed and said he was hoping for 30% + damage on at least one. I set to work only to realise I only had 2 WUK on me. I felt like a tool, and the 2 I had sliced were only 20-22%'s. I apologised and told him i was a disorganised fool, and there would be no charge, and I was gonna go back to Talus to pick up some more. He told me to keep hold of all 10, get my WUKS, slice the other 8 and let him know what I got. This was unusual for a start, trusting 10 very decent wepons to a complete stranger ![]()
I then sliced them all, and the only 30+ I got was 32% speed. The highest damage was 29%. By now Im feeling really bad for this guy, so i sent him a tell. He says he will have the top speed one and the top damage one, will pay me 30k and I can keep the rest!
Now thats what I call a good deal.
Know what made it even sweeter? Im just starting Heavy Swordsman. Schwing!!
Best tip I ever got was 80K. I was slicing a fullset of composite armor for a guy and screwed up one of the pieces (wasnt paying atttention and sliced the wrong wire). I apologiized profusely and offered to pay him for the piece. He said don't worry about it just keep slicing. I hit a couple of 40+ encumb slices (which is what he wanted). and he paid me 80K for the one suit.
Speaking of power hammers, like the poster above, A guy gave me 4 swords and 6 power hammers to slice last night. ALL FOUR of the swords got crappy speed slices... all below 20%. I was embarrased and offered to quit. But he told me to go ahead. This was incredible: Best short streak of slicing I ever had: 27% Damage, 31% damage, 34% damage, another 34% damage, and finally a 32% damage.DAMM! Needless to say, he didnt care near as much about the swords after that!
The other night I sliced a full set of composite mostly around 35% enc on a 71% base set.
My price is (5 x base (71)) x slice %
I made 88K on that suit. He paid 650K for the whole suit from the armorsmith.
Another guy wants a enc slice on a helmet, he must have brought me 10 helmets to slice, finally got it on about the 6th or 7th helmet.
That night I made over 200K in slicing weapons and armor.
Those 9 piece suits of armor sure add up.

I have to keep a notepad near my comp with a calculator now.
I used to as well
Then I joined the Flat Rate Party and basic math is easy
9x 5000 = 45k for a suit of comp.
I might even go to 7500 per slice for a bit and see how that works, then maybe try 10k.
I am using the 100 credits per percent increase. seems the most fair to me. Anything under 20% is free of charge. I use the notepad to add up the slice amounts.

What's funny is...I just left the guild I was in because I had some people expecting me to slice for free, and front them faction. I got burned by a few, and got P.O.'d and left the guild. I can make more money cruising around slicing mission terminals and enjoying other aspects of the game solo. You find out who's really cool and respects what you are doing for them...cause all people have to do is run one darn mission and they'd have the least amount of money that people charge for a slice.
