Haven't been on the Smuggler forum in a while so pardon if this has been brought up already, but has anyone tried the bomb modules that we & the BH's can use? Just wanting to see what other folks' opinions of them were.

We have a BH and another Smuggler in my guild and we've been trying them out on the Imp outpost on Talus. While they do good damage to stormies, they tend to pissoff AT-ST's and don't do much damage to those big chickens overall. Thank the devs for FD. Sucked for our BH, but nice for the 2 Smugglers.

Too hard to find to be of any major tactical use, in my opinion. Good for a bit of fun, but not a very practical weapon. My Droid Engineer friend has had a lot of trouble finding the reactive gas they need (Tolium I think) which may be part of why they are so hard to find and expensive when you do find them.

I like them. I don't use them as a primary weapon, more as a backup incase the sh*t hits the fan. People won't duel me anymore, can't figure out why.

You can use them from a pritty long way away, you can remain covert till you use it. once I had one droid following an overt. and i ran into a cantina watched on my map till he for about 90m away and then i started the count down. I hit 3 different people at 1 time! I love them :-)

I tried detonate from 40m away and I got told I was too far. I had to move within 35m to execute /detonatedroid

My - opinion, loads of fun. But actual damage is not really that high. NPC BH Marks almost always wear armor and have resists to blast of 50%+

My DE made me 10. I haven't used them all yet.

I find them invaluable for selling Fp out of a cantina. Just have one standing guard by the door, if a red dot comes in behind the bar, BOOM, with me on cleanup.

I like them for surprise attacks and feints. I'll drop one while running away and time the detonation so it hits as the pursuer catches up with my pursuer. Sometimes I'll be sitting in Coronet slicing and I'll pop one out and set it to chasing an overt rebel just to mess with him.

They were a nice little bone thrown to us and can be fun toys and even effective tools with a little creativity and planning.

Now thats funny. I do the exact same thing. I face the front door but leave a bomb droid at the back when Im in a cantina. If I see a red dot approaching from the front, I'll run to the back and start the countdown. If they come in from the back, start the countdown and run out the front

I've used them as novelty items as well... but I do have an EEEEEEVIL plan to get some non mousers made and paint them a lovely shade of lime to blend in with the noob helper droids

You sound like your well experienced in using these. I'm having nothing but problems with mine.

Mind posting "how" you use these? I currently have 2 pulled from my crate and are in my datapad, but cannot use them for the life of me.

Do you need to train commands for them? So lost......

They are fun and I have a good use for them. If you have one uncrated in your inventory feign death ,while feignd you can still prepare one so do so, then target it and get ready to set it to detonate stand up,hit the detonate and refeign death . I did this after being careless while hunting and it saved my bacon. Wonder how effective it would be in PvP. It might just be the thing to keep people from wrecking you while FD.

Easiest way I've found is to practice this on a non-aggro animal mob.

1--Call the droid.

2--Group the droid. (makes targetting the droid easier, and helps with exp, faction & looting if its grouped)

3--Pick a target and note its distance from you.

4--Tell the droid to follow the target. (default command is CHASE)

5--Target the droid.

6--When the droid gets to the chosen victim(s), with the droid still targetted type /detonate.

7--Wait 3 secs. for all hell to break loose.

Like some of the other posters have said they arefantastic 'first-strike' weapons. Shuttle into the Imp outpost covert. Call droid, set him to chasean NPC, set off the droid & then fanshot like mad with a mod'd rep blaster!

Thanks for your comments guys.I've gotten some good ideas & new uses for my lil bombots. Thank goodness we have a DE in my guild!
