Thread: TEF to all imps for anyone trading illegal goods
Anyone trading illegal should would get a TEF to all imperials regardless of if you were imperial, nuetral, rebel etc. If you trade or purchase a sliced item, spice or any illegal goods you get a TEF.
This seems like something easy to implement which would make being a smuggler more interesting as well as add some risk to slicing. This would force you to conduct business in a more secretive way, as both parties in the trasaction would get the TEF.
Rebels have additional content in the sense that if they get scanned, they have a high likelihood of getting a TEF or being turned overt. This would be something that would add to the RP aspect for smugglers, and add new content for Imperials as well as Rebels.
For example, that person who’s weapon you just sliced could have been an Imperial setting you up, making it a good idea to bustrun as soon as you complete any any transaction. The TEF would start the moment the trade of said items were completed in trade.
This would be something simple to implement that would make our game much more interesting. This would be an idea that I think would be cool in addition to any revamp issues. To me the fact that sliced items, spices, etc have been made illegal by the empire, gives the smuggler a strong role in the GCW. If you are a smuggler you are actively rebelling against the Empire whether you pretend to be Imperial or not.
And yes, 2 people of the same faction can have a TEF to each other. It happens all the time by accident (as a bug)
nevermind the chances to grief people... "hmm, i need some faction... let me find a rebel smuggler and ask him to slice something crap weapon for me so i can kill him"
or the reverse case, where a group of nothing but coverts could manufacture flags and TEF all night long, instead of being done shortly after the last overt dies
besides, a tef when your with your guildies really isn't any kind of penalty, is it? Where is the penalty in that?
and then, as Caylin mentioned, there is no way you're going to see tefs for neutrals, just not gonna happen.
I hate this idea every time i read it. The TEF system sucks already and the last thing I want is to have smuggling piggybacking that crappy game mechanic.
What we need is a new criminal system or perhaps an overhaul of the current NPC faction system to allow more types of NPCs to see us as hostile, and for action other then simply killing them. Do too much smuggling in corsec controled territories then they come looking for you. Trying to work out of Mos Eisley cantina and Lady Val gets word of it expect trouble from her thugs. And while it isn't needed for the idea to work, this could also be a gateway to getting on the BH terms. Piss jabba off and he puts a contract out on ya.

I say sure, bring it on! Oh, did I mention the price per slice willnow be50k? *grins*
I think it is a cool idea. Maybe not always, but in areas with a lot of people that could "see" you.

P.S.-I hate this "non-consentual" bull!
You joined a side in a war. I don't care if this is a game, if a Rebel sees a covert in stormtrooper armor, wouldn't he shoot first, and ask questions later? This PvP without consent is dumb. An off duty police officer says "don't shoot" to a terrorist....
This is a bad idea. No way are they going to allow a system which allows Imperials to grief Neutrals and noncombatants who don't wish todoPvP fighting. One of the great things about SWG is that all PvP combat is consensual.
Well, at least in my opinion, shouldn't the Imperials be "griefing" others? Isn't all the stuff that would give you a TEF illegal (or supposed to be....)?
I can see the TEF point. Maybe....grrr. See your point. Too many jackass Imperials that would grief others. (I am also ashamed of griefing Rebels, that is, Rebels that grief, not the action.)

First, how is the TEF without consent? If it is state in the patch notes that "If you trade, wear, or use contraband you will recieve a tef from now on" it is anything but pvp without consent. They know the risk, if they choose to do so it is their choice. If you have a reason behind the pvp without consent I would really like to see it, but as it stands I don't think it holds water as long as it is somewhere in game where people can see if it were to be implemented.
