Thread: TEF to all imps for anyone trading illegal goods

First, how is the TEF without consent? If it is state in the patch notes that "If you trade, wear, or use contraband you will recieve a tef from now on" it is anything but pvp without consent. They know the risk, if they choose to do so it is their choice. If you have a reason behind the pvp without consent I would really like to see it, but as it stands I don't think it holds water as long as it is somewhere in game where people can see if it were to be implemented.
Truthfully I think that a TEF for trading, wearing, or using"contraband" would be nice. It would add a whole new dimension to the smuggler profession.
Heaven forbid if we were to actually start to feel like we were smuggling something or doing something that is illegal. What do you expect smugglers to do?

Hey all
My 2 credits worth.
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding this, but it seems to me that your suggesting anyone using illegal goods will get a TEF? If this is true, it would take a huge cut out of the slicing market. What we would see happen is the only people using sliced items would be PvPer's. The poor PvEer's would be out of luck.
Now, if we're suggesting that a TEF is generated only when illegal goods are traded, this could be a good idea. As many have already said, it would create an actual sense of danger when dealing with illegal goods. As far as PvP without consent, clicking on the Trade button would be consent just as clicking on the Duel button, or clicking on the "I wish to declare my faction affiliation" button is consent. If all players are informed that trading illegal goods will generate a TEF then I don't believe it can be considered unconsented PvP.
After all, there needs to be some kind of punishment for getting caught, otherwise what's the point?
