Just day dreamin' here-
But I think I might like to try:
Master Brawler
Master Pistols
Master TKM
Smuggler 0030
I would do this for the intimidate specials and to be able to throw a quick slap down on any unwelcomed, surprise visits. I lose out on last ditch but a couple of versions of knock downs at your side can't be half bad either.
OR
Master Brawler
Master Rifles
Master Swords
Smuggler0300
This would be to focus on a BHs mind bar while I'm running away. This would look real good on a Wookie- maybe if I unlock I will go this route.

Heh, I can't wait until the combat upgrade rolls out and I don't have to defense stack like a sissy just to fight decent.
Perhaps then I can afford to return to smuggler, where I can be both a soldier and a smuggler instead of just one.

I'm currently moving my template from:
Master Smuggler
Master Pistoleer
Master Marksman
Scout 1/0/0/0
What I am moving to is what I feel will bring me more survivabilty while only giving up a couple modifiers to pistols...I think it's a good trade off considering the "Defense vs.", Melee, and Ranged defenses are all better than the TKM, Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer set up and Dodge is fro teh win
:
Master Smuggler
Master Pistoleer
Fencer 4/4/4/0
Marksman 0/4/0/1

If smuggler bounties ever come into existance then we had better get the same bonuses as Jedi to deal with the amount of whine and grief that comes with them. Heck BH's already cry when a Jedi uses feign death. Just imagine what would happen if they could never complete their bounty because we are the profession that owns that skill rightfully.

Hopefully the entire Smuggler profession will be augmented, revamped, overhauled, and rebuilt with skills that work well and are totally balanced. Same goes for the system of aquiring and placing bounties on players.

I cannot see any reason for a smuggler to be hunted really why. We file stuff down. We dare to peddle asperin. Yes we peddle asperine if spice was as strong as it should be yeah I can see that. This is something that has plagued me. In real life someone on crank is alot harder to fight then someone on a natural supplement. So why do natural supplements and liqour kick cranks hiney in this game. I just do not get it.
The real people that should be hunted by bhs are chefs and doctors those are the real nefarious characters. Only poverty ridden people need spice. Ah look at that starveing kid sorry little one I am not a chef but check this out I got a rock of booster blue you can smoke.
The idea sounds like it has merit the problem is the profession aint got any bonuses that justify the risk. If buffs were like spice is now and spice now were like buffs. Yeah I could see the logic.
The only thing that smuggler bounties could do right now is kill off the hardcore smugglers. Armorsmiths and weaponsmiths that mastered it for the slice can hide in a locked workshop for hours on end. The best part is we wouldnt get bored. We can just tinker and craft things by hand.

I think the subject is implying that when we do get bounties for us (whenever that may be), would you change your template to be more accustomed to this.
Smuggler bounties have long been discussed and it's widely accepted that these are a good thing and most Smugglers and, of course, Bounty Hunters would love this. So long as it's completely voluntary. GreenMarine posted about this too.
But that's off subject. Assuming we ever got bounties that could be put on us for failing a certain type of mission that we voluntarily took that wasn't required to progress in the profession after it was revamped, would you change your template and if so, to what?

Beleive that when I see that the doctors and chefs will have the smugglers smacked down in three days. They are never going to nerf doctor buffs or the ungodly chef foods. It just aint going to happen aint you a smuggler. You should know this game by now.

If they ever implemented smuggler bounties, I'd break all the rules and get on the terms, just for the fun of it!

Sorry, bro', but they are nerfing doctor and chef foods. In the Combat Balance/Upgrade/Revamp everything is being brought in line, including spices. The Devs have stated that they never intended people to be running around with 2750 buffs for 4 hours and that these will be brought in line in the Combat Upgrade.
It's also been stated that spices will also be upgraded in the Combat Upgrade. Since spice has a downer effect at the end, they were meant to be the strongest buffs in the game. I could be wrong but I seem to remember some documentation about some of the better spices lasting 30-60 minutes with 1000+ buffs.
And I am a Smuggler and I've been one for much longer than you have and part of being a good Smuggler is keeping up with your profession's business. Some of that includes knowing what's coming, when it's coming, and doing your best to positively effect the changes. So I know this and much much more by now.

All I am saying is that if the profession got on the boards as the profession is now. Alot of people would just finally quit the profession. Being that my alt is a mbh let mebebrutally honest If I hunted down a smuggler and he feighned on me I would be highly tempted to scorch him to the bone.
I am just not seeing where the temptation to even take the risk would come from. In the starwars films the desire to smuggle came from the fact that you made alot of money doing it. Roleplay is fine and good but how many smugglers would really open themselves up to surprise attacks ambushes ganksquads extortion. You could buy the bullet at any time at any place. You could be in the middle of your favorite dungeon and get capped, or you could be selling your services in coronet and get flash fried.
Maybe its the bh in me but dang I need to see a point to slaughtering another player. There has to be some purpose to it. When I waste a jedi I know I have put him back. If I were to waste a smuggler I would like to think that is justified by his or her reward. If spice were like the doctors buffs of the future then offing a drug dealer would feal very good. Hah no smuggling today.
Does any of this make sense and in response to the question supposeing that I werent a smuggler for sliceing purposes. I would probabally drop smuggler and get some hardcore killing skills.

As is, right now, there is no way we could end up on the terminals for justified reasons. I mean, I guess you could put some high-end delivery missions in where you just travel from point A, to B, to C, and D the back to A for a decently large sum of credits. If you had accepted a higher-end mission of that sort where you failure would land you on the terminals and you failed...it could work as far as getting us on the terminals. But, no, there is no real reason.
It boils down to this: Combat, the Smuggler profession, and the Contraband System needs to be extensively overhauled to make Smuggler/player bounties worthwhile.
We know Combat is being revamped right now. After that, the Smuggler profession will probably be upcoming and within that revamp will be contraband overhauls almost certainly. So all of this is lining up within the next 6-12 months.
When it does happen, Smuggler bounties will be implemented, they're just too cool not to be. The method with which Smugglers get on the terminals will have to be completely voluntary. Such that the Smuggler chooses to undertake a special mission with high reward but the risk is that upon failure, he gets a bounty placed on him. Or soemthing like that.
So don't worry, man. It's not going to be like the Jedi system where you don't know you're on the terminals and you've got gank squads and all that. It just wouldn't make sense and I'll guaran'damn'tee you that this community wouldn't let anything like that slip in.
