Thread: Anyone planning on going to Fan Fest?

Just wondering if any of you Smugglers are planning on going to Fan Fest this year. I was hoping to go, but since they can't seem to have it anywhere near me, I can't make it. (Not sure I would want to go at this point anyway due to recurring events.)

Anyway, maybe if someone who is going would like to volunteer to take a list of questions from the Smuggler community, we can get some decent answers. At the very least, I'd love pictures of their reactions as one of you corner them with a list of questions/demands from our neglected group.

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

Can't they just punch them instead? At this point in time, I'd be more interested in films of Devs being punched on the nose.

I wanna go but its to soon to tell if I will or not.A few of us were talking about showing up in mass so you got the right idea. If we are not re-vamped by summer which I think is when the next FF will happen Im sure 75% of the smuggler community will be there.

Fan Fest is a bit... in another country... on another continent...

I wouldn't want to tempt myself into engaging in a physical conflict, so I'll pass.

I'm partly considering it, but very unsure. If not FanFest, then I'll likely go to the meeting in Germany.

I know Joras and I will 100% for sure be there...

...and I'm not planning on being very nice this time around. Neither is Joras.

I'd actually like to plan out shirts we can wear with sayings on them about Smugglers.

Last year, I loved Joras and his shirt that said, "The Smuggler Revamp is a fun myth."

Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.

Me too (I'm in the UK), but I'm going anyway to meet friends.

That's the big factor for me in "should I go or should I stay".... guess I'll have to decide when they start taking bookings

A Smuggler shirt idea from the movie "Falling Down":

SMUGGER - (on the Front )

NOT ECONOMICALLY VIABLE - (on the back)

My T-shirt ideas are these..

1) On the front in larger text "History of Smuggler as told by the developers". On the back, the entire post in small text. May take several columns. Or alternate back - use larger text, and spread it out over a few shirts. Have friends wear those, and walk around in a group asking people to read the whole thing.

2) On the front "I pay SOE 15 bucks a month to play a Smuggler..." On the back "...and all I got was this lousy T-shirt - which I had to pay for myself."

Let me know if you like these, I am seriously considering having these made, and going to the 'fest this year to speak my mind.

What would be the point?

Think you'll get more substantial answers than we get here on this forum?

Honestly I wouldn't waste my money.

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Two years of "Soon"(TM), a harsh bunch of lies.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie"

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Dancers can't smuggle and neither can I.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie, Why are there Jedi, I don't know why.
Ask me a riddle and I reply: "Smuggler, Smuggler, Smuggler Pie."

Like I said, if I can't make it, I want to see pictures!
