Hello All My Fellow Corbantian Smugglers-

I have been reading the thread concerned with prices of slicing, and I must say my eyes have been open. The arguments presented by our brothers on other servers are very intriguing. If you have the time, read it, it's titled "raising the prices of slicing" with some excellent discussions. Which brings me to my point. As I am sure you have all though, we far undercharge on Corabtis for this illegal service that permantly imporves weapons and armor when doc and chefs make fortunes on temporary improvements. I have studied the thread from our sister servers and come up with the below list of possibilites:

1)Captain Yimaz Samoot of Eclipse

01%-15% 2k

16%-24% 4k

25%-33% 6k

34%-up 8k

2)Master Smuggler Joltsone of server unknown

10%-24% 5k

25%-34% 10k

35%-up 15k

3)Balkstar Bartoc of Flurry

Up to 24% 5k

25%-34% 10k

35%-up 15k

Here on corantis we are sorely undercharging while the docs and chefs are farting through silk! (I digress and kid, sorry). Seriously, I by no means am telling people what to do. I wish only to form some solidarity, and underwolrd network, where we decide and set our prices so that we all win. I am picturing a crime family meeting. Or, a gathering in the hidden back room of a cantina...you decide. If we come together on this then we all win. Then when we are revamped, we will already be prepared to come together like this once again and set our prices. I mean jeez, we are performing illegal activities, we should be compenstaed for the risks.

I have numbered the options so as to garner support for one or the others. If you like Captain Samoot's system, please indicate, and so on. In a best case senario, we can gap our competitive natures and come to an agreement that benefits everyone. We're criminals, for whatever personal reason, but we can organize our crime eh? Anyone who has a system other than these three that they want to submit, please do so. I would like as much feedback as possible.

Thanks all for your time and attention.

I have always thought something of a loose syndicate would be a good thing. You are right about prices. I've read the same thread and seen the same price gouging by nearly every other profession. I am very interested in such a meeting of master smugglers. I think it is high time we started working together.

Please let me know if you hold such an event. My name is Cinquain McGraw, Master Smuggler/Master Sword of Corbantis.

As if you don't make enough money off of muon, you are proposing to gouge players for slicing?

Why don't you break down the cost of a slice so people know your profit margins. I can promise you that doctors, unless they make their own buffs, are not raking in the millions and farting through silk.

Lets see here...laster knife...16units of metal if i'm not mistaken, and that slices 5 items. at 3cpu that comes out to 9 credits per slice.

Clamps require 90 metal. One per slice. at 3cpu that comes out to 180 credits.

Your proposing that you charge someone 5k or more for something that costs you 180 credits.

Keep up the good work!

I don't make crap selling Muon and I sell it for 5K a crate, still nobody buys the stuff

I get crates sliced and discard the low slices. At these rates the slicing would cost more than the crates of weapons.

You tell me which takes more effort and time to do?

After the hologrind is over, the prices will rise. Many master smugglers like myself have long ago given up on slicing. It is too much hassle for too few credits. You have to deal with people with attitudes like Error10 here. It just isn't worth it to me whenI can have more fun running missions and make more credits. When people search and search for a smuggler to slice and can't find one, they will pay higher prices.

Even though I don't slice, I like a flat rate. It is easier for me to figure out what they owe when I slice multiple items. On the rare occasion when someone does talk me into slicing, I charge 5K. After the hologrind is over and the temporary smugglers aren't keeping prices low anymore, my prices will rise if I decide to slice again.

In fairness, I wanted to add that today on Dantooine a Doc was charging 50k for buffs. He's not raking it in? As for profit margin, should we do it ad hoc?

Why dont we break down a docs profit margin to even though thats just a temporary enhancement

Schematic: Enhance Health Medpack - D
Skill required to Craft: Master Doctor's Medicine Crafting
Required Medicine Use: ~93

Complexity: 37

Notes: This very powerful medpack allows someone with the correct Doctor skill to temporarily enhance the Health pool of thmselves or their target.

Quantity Ingredient
28 Reactive Gas
28 Avian Meat
3 Biological Effect Controller
2 Chemical Release Duration Mechanism
1 Solid Delivery Shell

3 Biological Effect Controller

1. Requires 18 units of Lokian Wild Wheat lets say20 cpu for the sake of the argument
2. Requires 18 units of Tatooinian FiberplastIl sell you this at HQ for 4 - 5 cpu

1. Lokian wild wheat : 54 units x 20 = 1080

2. Tatooinian Fiberplast54 units x 5 = 270

1solid delivery shell

1. Requires 16 units of Domesticated Oats4 -5 cpu
2. Requires 16 units of Dolovite Iron20 cpu for hte argument have seen it sold for 5 have seen it sold at 40

Domesticated Oats 16x5= 80
Dolovite Iron 16x20 = 320

2 Chemical Release Duration Mechanism

1. Requires 16 units of Herbivore Meat 50cpu
2. Requires 16 units of Class 4 Liquid Petrochemical Fuel 10cpu

1. Herbivore Meat 32x50 = 1600
2. Class 4 Liquid Petrochemical Fuel 32x10 = 320

28 Reactive Gas10 cpu = 280

28 Avian Meat 50 cpu =1400

28 Reactive Gas 280 credits
28 Avian Meat1400
3 Biological Effect Controller1350
2 Chemical Release Duration Mechanism1920
1 Solid Delivery Shell 400

Total : 5350

With a total of six stats to buff thats 5350x6= 32100

Calculatiang that every pack has aproximately 20 charges it alows the doc to buff 20 people pr pack at 10k pr person thats 200k total made pr 6 packs

The calculation being 200k - 32100 = 167k left after paying forthe buffs. SO the doc make an aproximately 500% profit.

The smuggler calculation

1. molecular clamp 90 copper or aluminium at 3cpu = 270 (still dont get how error got it to 180 and i thought i sucked at math)

1. laser knife 16 copper or aluminium at 3cpu= 48

1. Weapon or armor upgrade kit at 5k pr crate of 25 = 200

Total cost : 670 pr slice so to get the same profit as docs we should charge about 3k pr slice.

Then you need to consider the fact that when i slice your gun or your armor thats permanent the slice stay on your gun regardless of death, time, triple incap and trade. so if you get a 30% damage slice its on that gun till it gets destroyed, a doc buff is gone if your killed 2 minutes after its applied, htere is a difference there. also the fact that that gun you got for 5000 - 10000 credits is now worth alot more you could probobly sell it for 25 - 35k at least.

Also when you get buffed for 2200 to all stats except mind focus and willpower, (which you do with entertainers at 5000 - 10000) for 3 hours you actually pay 41.6 credits pr minute you'r buffed. If i slice your gun for 30% damage and it lasts for 2 weeks which is a minimum, (my 32% damage sliced FWG5 is about 2 months old) for 3k thats a slice that lasts for 20160 minutes where you pay me 0.14 credits pr minute your gun is stil sliced. for us to get the same credits pr minute as the doc we would haveto charge 838656 pr slice how does that sound?

Balkstar from flurry charges those prices after the community of smugglers on our server agreed to do so. About 50 of us have agreed to stay relatively around that price set, or a flat rate of 10k or so. I've seen other charging 8k for slices under 24% and 10k for everything else, but it is all average 10k a slice.

You may read the outcome of our meeting here: Flurry Smuggler Meeting Recap

All you people who **edit** about supplies being used and blah blah blah, stick a cork in it. This arguements been around forever.

Look at dancer buffs ( I admit outdated ) but they still charge 5-10k for THEM to stand and do nothing besides run a macro for 10 minutes. They spend no resources and dont even move besides directing the dance to you.

To them, 10k is worth standing there doing nothing for 10 minutes. To me, stopping what I was doing to slice YOUR weapon is worth 10k.

Stop complaining about people raising prices, it needs to happen.

In response to P__Day,

My price per slice is about75 credits. Charging2000 cr aslice I make over 2600% profit. 26 * 75 = 1950.

45cr or less for the clamp.

15 cr or less for the kit.

5cr. for the knife.

10 cr. for manufacturing costs for the sake of argument.

you must get insanely cheap resources and Wuk's and auk's. still to me the costs of it isnt really the issue, the fact is that when i slice a mission terminal on dant i make from 6 - 10k pr slice and i dont need a kit+ i dont have to deal with morons, so why should i charge any less for slicing someone's gear? if it takes me 15 minutes with the trade and all to slice a full suit of comp, i could have completed 2 40k missons and have made 80k in hte same time so in theory im loosing about 40k by slicing his stuff instead ofthe terminal

In responce to dorsai...

10k a crate of clamps
2.5k a crate of plk's
4k a crate of WUK's / AUk's

That is 400 credits per clamp, 50 credits per slice on a plk, and 160 credits per WUK or AUK meaning a total of about 610 credits per slice.

If you make your supplies sure its cheaper but who gives a rats tail, most people do not make their own supplies.

Plus all this calculation on how much resources and what not go into slicing is bull crap.

We are not charging for supplies used, we are charging for our time spent.

Today I logged in (happened to be in coronet) and got 6 tells within the first 5 minutes. I'm sorry but taking the first 20 minutes of me being logged in to slice 10 items is not work 20k to me.

I got buffed and headed to dant for a solo group and made about 120-150k every 30 minutes or so.

Now... would I prefer to sit and make crap money slicing, or spending my time getting good money on missions?

I charge 10k per slice because in the time it takes me to make 150k I could have made that much running missions.
