Why is the price of slicing so cheep? Everyone slices there weapons and won't stop. It's about the only one thing that will make a smuggler some money. Like 5kor more a slice thats not a huge amount of money and it can really make a weapon better. You see docs making uber amountsof money doing a buff thattaks about a min.I could go for some of that.Sure some people arn't in it for the money or they don't need it but what about some people that do want a little more creds, and if a few smugglers here or there did it then people would just go tothe other cheeper ones. For example if a persongoes up the armorsmithproffesion andbecome master now they can make 400k+ suits of armor if they are good, what is the huge perk to smuggling if you can't make some good creds. Ya I know"then don't be a smuggler" but it's a pretty cool proffesion and the Idea behind it is more what I'm looking for. I just wish they would revamp it justa smidge. Not thatI really expect this to happen butI want to know who came upwith the slicingprices.Creds come pretty easy in this game and go the same. Just a queston don't freak out if you don't like the idea just wondering. Thanks all in all just blowing off some steam about the game. Man do I enjoy it though.

Some seemto agree with me on my server, though there are a lot that don't. I've flat out refused to slice for several people wanting my time cheaper than I price it.

Smugglers are a paradox. We should charge out the wazoo because we are dirty credit grubbers. Yet we also should be consistently dirt poor.Would a rich person become a smuggler? We are the profession with nothing to lose, scraping by on credits,on our last chance, the die young leave a good looking corpse kinda people. A rich smuggler is an oxymoron of sorts. We are looking for one big score that will enable us to get out of the wee quay piss on jabbas floor and retire sipping booze and snorting giggledust on the beaches of Naboo. yet we also shouldnt become royalty off it.

Maybe something cool like i just get a nice payout for delivering that spice for Borvo and then a tip from someone and the local security force comes in and cracks my skull takes my cash and leaves me in a bloody pool of bloody blood. Charge all you want. I want to be poor! maybe increase the value of slicing so im not necesarrily getting credits for slicing but getting cool trade items i can show off ( Xwing alliance anyone?) so basically yeah.

one slice doens't fit all. Charge 10-15k to slice a powerhammer, but 100-200 to slice a cdef. help out the little guy.

Thismight bea good idea. Price based on weapon value.

although this is like the twentieth thread this week on the topic...I'll say that Ihonestly don't think that any kind of price raise is going to work until such a time that the general masses realize that the results on their product aren't random.

Main problem with that? They are random.

Until we can control what kind of a slice they get, until there aren't anymore holosmugglers, and until there's a nice little tag in the master smuggler block about how we get a higher chance for a good roll (although with some of the 11%s I've pulled lately I'm starting to wonder)...or hell, until we can experiment with our tools...we don't really have much of a leg to stand on as far as a justification to raise prices passed the norm.

Essentially, until slicing isn't completely and one hundred percent random (difference between slice 4 and master notwithstanding) we're not gonna get away with raising fees. Sorry amigos.

It shouldnt really matter. Slicing isnt our form of income. Lets say you slice for 3k/slice, youd need 500 slices just to make 1.5mill, and bu the time you manage to slice 500 weapons, youd have made double that money doing missions on Dathomir.

So, you see, it shouldnt really matter. I charge 10k/slice no matter what % it gets. But I dont slice every day, nor is it my source of income. We slice cause we can.

I think if i had a noob come to me with a cdef ot have sliced...I would slice ti for free, just to help the guy out. Of course charging 10k to slice that is unreal, but it's not unreasonable to charge that for the better weapons

I was charging a flat rate of 3k per slice...Then saw how on my server Doc Buff's went from 5-6k now to 8-10k.. Plus, the prices of most things went up.

The Doc Buff's got me thinking though.. Since I was one, and Know that at 6k your still making good money. the Rest is a gouge... So, I raised my Flat rate to 5k Per slice. I have had a few people go "That's Way to High Never Mind." I just tell them it's to cover the cost of Services I need. and That why don't they have a problem with 8-10k for a Doc Buff that lasts a Max of 3 hours.. Vs. a Slice which could last a Long time depending on how you use the weapon/armor and repair it?

When some say how about 3k? or 4k? I just tell them, Thank's but I'll pass.

I agree we don't charge enough. I recently raised my price to 10k an item. Today I had two people ask me to slice for them , the first said he couldn't afford it, the second just laughed and ran off. It's a sad world we play in when people want an illegal service at bargain prices.

Had a slicer against the price raise start messaging me that I would never get any bussiness at my 5k per slice and how stupid I was for charging that much.

15 minutes and two customers later my reply went something like this. "Wow, I just finished making 100k from slicing and not a single complaint. So hows that 100cc per percent treating ya?"

*rolls eyes*

I don't have the time nor the desire to determine and/or haggle over my opinion of the item value.

Neither do I have the time or desire to multiply the % change by some amount then get into an arguement with my 12 year old customer over my math.

I charge, and always have, a flat 3k per slice fee independent of anything; value of item, wealth of player, % of slice, quantity or phase of the moon.

I follow the KISS principle and anyone that doesn't like it can kiss-off. I can count the number of people unwilling to pay my 3k on my two hands and I've been slicing since a month after live. I don't advertise and I tell people when they first contact me what my prices are.

I see no reason to either raise my prices or come up with some sliding scale. I'm happy and my customers are happy...and I don't see my banker complaining.

I charge a flat fee of 3k per item. The few times I was handed a CDEF weapon to slice, not only did I do it for free, but I also tipped the newbie 20k or so.

These days, I always check their bio for badges before engaging in any charity.
