The point is it shouldn't be tedious at all. This is a game. It's supposed to be fun.

It is a game and its suppose to be fun I agree . Maybe different people differently about the faction than I do.. I don't know. To me... earning the money I make (in game) is more fun if I have to EARN it. Just like in RL... a job where u earn money can be tedious.

Caylin rocks for pushing everything. I'm not belittling the effort at all . I just think there are more important things they could fix before they did this. Maybe I should have used a different thread. I'm just worried that fixing something like this gives them the future argument of " Hey quit yet whining!! We just threw you smugglers some bones... be happy you got what u did"

just my 2 cents

What is he thinking!? That one mention has set back their smuggler profession removal agenda by weeks!

Seriously though (yes, it was that unfunny to warrant a 'seriously though'), I'm pleased that they're thinking of addressing it.. but then, like so much else they've said they'll do to the profession, I now take the stance "I'll believe it when I see it". Sad that it's come to that, eh?

I always enjoyed doing big orders of faction more when I macroed it.

Macroing freed up my hands so I could switch to Group Chat and actually converse with my client (who I'm sure was as equally bored as I was during the transfer). Or I could answer a /tell or two that came in from friends, or switch to Guild Chat and talk to guildies...

Without the macro, you're stuck with a mindless point and click process. No interaction with your customer, or anything else for that matter.

And with the timings I had on my macro, 10k FP = ~10 minutes. I might have been able to do it slightly faster without the macro...but on larger orders, all of the clicking and mouse movement was extremely painful on my wrist. So, in the long run, macroing was healthier, more fun, and more emersive for me...

I did faction transfers for up to 20 mil a pop, no way i would ever do that without the help of macros. even with them it can get monotnous, trying doing it without

Easiest fix to the smuggler macro buying faction is to remove the cap. Allow us to buy as much as we want. The next big step would be to add 2 or 3 more levels of faction purchases -or- the ability to pay cash for faction items based on rank. Right now, the arbitrary figure for FP is 80 cr per FP. I would like to see...

10 FP for 750 credits(75 per pt.)

125 FP for 10K (80 per pt)

300 FP for 25K (83 per pt)

500 FP for 45K (90 per pt)

All cash transactions are based on 100 cr per FP scale. So that 1500 FP marine backpack would run me 150K.

Gah it's just a ruse to make you forget the broken promises of a year or more. Don't let this get you all excited they still think of us as children, nothing more.

We’ve been reading the previous thread (link back) and all of your
feedback. Right off the top, I’d like to say that while this is In
Development, it won’t be happening until some time after Publish 10 goes to
live servers. We’ll be doing our best to address your concerns and here is
where we’re at...

There certainly are pros and cons to removing recursive macros from the
game. Generally speaking, the positive side of the argument revolves around
promoting a virtual world where players are playing active roles and are
encouraged to play "at the keyboard". The negatives are ultimately removing
some of the gameplay solutions that players use to enjoy and enhance their
game play.

We have chosen to move the game to a state where players actually play the
game, not simply run virtual robots by means of macros. At the same time, we
want to ensure that we address those valid gameplay areas which are most
impacted by the loss of recursive macros.

So far, the most important gameplay considerations we feel need to be
addressed so far are:

• Streamlining the crafting process
• Off-peak-hours availability of
healers in Cantinas and Hospitals
Smugglers
and Faction Points

The question on the table now is, "How should we make gameplay
accommodations for these critical activities that will be affected by the
removal of recursive macros
?"

We will follow up and post more details about the specific implementation
and fixes in a few weeks.

Please stay on topic.

I'm sorry.. I did a faction sale yesterday for 20K of faction without using a macro other than /delegate (name)... no loop. It took me 35 minutes and I made 600K.

I don't think making faction purchase's easier is that big of a deal for us. It's not as tedious as what i heard. If they wanted to throw Smugglers a bone... I think they could have found some more important areas to address than this.

Just my 2 cents though.
