Thread: 45% Slices on Weapons

I've definitely always seen better slices on better weapons. Now if they used the same exact materials (or as close as possible) to make the weapon as they do to make the weapon upgrade kits (and all the slicing tools) there might be a link. More I think the quality of the weapon matters. I have personally never (at slicing 2 and 3) sliced below 20 % on a high quality weapon made by a master weaponsmith.

All my worst slices are on low grade weapons. I am only now getting the chance to start migrating to higher quality materials. You really either have to have the cash to buy or you have to stock up about 3 medium harvesters, then when a good material pops up pounce on it like a cat on a crippled catnip covered mouse and suck it dry.

I Slice easily 250 weapons/armor a day.

You slice 250 items a day and you only have less than 3 million credits?! you are being underpaid my friend

If the slice percentage is dependent on what quality of weapon one is slicing or dependent on how many millions you slice til you get a "lucky" 40%+ slice, then what exactly is so special about whatever process Rudd is using if infact he uses some trick to buff up the percentage? i.e. if he were on anyone else's server and doing the same amount of slicing as any other master smuggler can he claim that he will still get 40%+ slices on a somewhat regular basis? If not, then what is the point? If it has to do with cdef weapons or generally lower tier weapons, then does it have something to do with the fact they are mostly all made of copper ? btw, in the future, can anyone be more **edit** than this please ? kkthxbye

Here is a tip, I am starting to feel bad for all of these people that are pulling their hair out over this one. I seriously doubt you all do the volume that I do when I Slice. Someone here is very close to doing what I believe helps me immensely. I Slice easily 250 weapons/armor a day. A lot of it comes down to pure bulk. I see the percentages *rarely*. I get extremely lucky if I see more than one a day. I have contractors that I work for, and I do crates and crates of weapons over and over. Want to know if the weapons come into play? They do.

But I would suggest, if you are really hardcore set into finding out how to do it, get a WeaponSmith to throw 1000 CDEF's in a factory for you and try those. (Just make sure he uses the right quality materials when making them. hint, hint)

Okay, so I was barking up the wrong tree. I don't do nearly that level of quantity per day, and I can't say that every slice I've ever done was on the highest quality of weapon.

I don't think what Rudd is saying is "make sure they experiment on efficiency." Let's pull one sentence out of this:

"...make sure he uses the right QUALITY materials when making them." (Emphasis added.) If we can deduce that the overall quality of the weapon adds to the slice, then the materials used must have a higher overall quality when made. Rudd, am I right? *slaps forehead* Combine this with Rudd slicing 250 a day and, as he's admitted, hitting only 1 or 2 a day, then the 40%-45% slices are enough of an abnormality that makes them POSSIBLE, but simply highly IMPROBABLE.

Okay, I'm going back to bed.

maybe he wasnt trying to drop a hint that OBVIOUS and just meant that the resources had to be better than average.. for something other than quality.

I tend to think the key here is the weapons themselves. I have noticed much better slices on lower level high quality weapons. I would bet most of his 40+ slices have been CDEF weapons and melee weapons of the same grade. Probably a scout blaster here and there. These weapons havea wide array of materials to choose fromand it is easy for the weapon crafter to find top quality materials. Making these weapons a much higher overall quality than the higher level ones which can be very dependent on specific resources. Just my 2 cents though!

What I'm getting at is a gun like a cdef will require base types of metal. Say copper and steel and any kind of those will do. A gun like an fwg5 or dx2 will require specific types of that metal like say platinite or quadranium. It is much easier to find good metal for a gun that just requires any random steel or copper than to find good metal (or other material) that meets specific requirements. So most weaponsmiths can really juice up a cdef where as a DX2 has rare materials for ingredients so you can't be as picky on quality and such when you make it. I have personally noticed that most of my highest slices have come on cdef weapons that were maxed out. Do I have hard data? Nope. Just speculating like most of the other folks here.

This is the biggest bunch of garbage i've ever read.

Sure he was able to hit 45% it's called a chance. He hit the lucky #. There isn't any talent here, otherwise he would be able to properly slice every single item to maximum allowed by the game design.

Why do I suggest this? Because if he would do contract work he could tell a master weaponsmith exactly what to do how to do it and when to do it. They would make millions selling the only desirable weapons on the server THAT ALL ARE ALL 40-45%'s.

I'm sure there are many many slicers reading this thinking, yah i sliced that before ...45% but i'm too lazy to post because -1- i dont care and -2- i'm lazy. You think with all the players on all the servers this person has a clue? I think not. Prove me wrong. A broken taloscope? Please....this guy even faults himself repeatedly by reaching out within and stretches to give any bit of crap he can and feed all of you.

"oh he does this instead of this" and "think outside the box" "rearrange your tools and weapons so the order of items being used goes as follow knife-weapon-clamp-kit put the taloscope anywhere u want...preferably ~3.

Gimme a goddamn break bud.

There isn't any magic in this game.

Now i didn't play beta but could someone please outline what slice 4 was like back then? If someone proves otherwise i still think it's malarky. Hell has anyone even ADMITTED that slice 4 is indeed broken?

I mean come on, why in the world would something you did in an earlier skill break when u gain a higher level.

that doesn't make sense...chewbacca is a wookie.

Want to slice well? Turn time back to launch day, when you could slice terms non-stop. Shoot biznatches like crazy and bang there ya go! woo-hoo you are a master smuggler that can now slice higher than all novice levels.

Confess. I will not be misled by you any longer.

Any others with 45% slices that haven't posted get off your asses because this is just too much.

sorry if i mispelled anythign

I sliced 175 weapons earlier in the week on night. Stuff from knucklers experimented 100% on eff to scouts all damage exerimented. All used the best resources money can buy. I've yet to see anything around 45% or even 40%. My 2 cents.
