I left AO for SWG beta over two years ago because the loot camping in AO had gone WAY out of control. SWG is headed in the same direction.
If when you drive with your swoop to your friend's cantina, yuo see a group of thugs, if you know that by killing them you will most likely get a tool or two, you will do it. If you know that they drop nothing useful, or something way too rare, you would prolly do as me and keep driving.
It's ridiculous that I need to kill something to do a job that I was able to perform normally just a day before.
I seriously believe the developers do not think when they implement things.
This is immersion breaking here people. Wake up!!

i agree, we should have smuggling missions with possible schematics etc. OR at least just up the drop of simple and finely crafted toolkits...
The new slicing system is VERY POORLY thought out.
1) I can no longer make a living selling AUKs, WUKs, and Slicing Tools. Where is a smuggler supposed to make money now? Spices only? The ramifications to the economy were obviously NOT thought out.
2) Need loot to slice? What kind of crap is that? Loot *in addition* to using slicing tools/auks/wuks would be good.
SOE just ripped the 'nads off of the Smuggler profession.
I personally feel "gated" from capabilities because I am not a l33t-d00d who's only after loot.
While the spaceship component loot-concept isn't a bad idea, it really is only applicable in cases where everyone can have the same capability - IE, ship-pilot does not require skill-points.
With loot-drops, only elite combat professions will succeed.
you know i could deal with it being loot
as long as it drops from like almost n e npc in the game and its totaly random
wy make it drop from ONLY the baddest dudes in the game
there just incouraging a lootbased system that they spurrned to begain with by making it a player based econimy

Stupid idea. Where is thecreativity orintent to make the game feel like Star Wars.This isn't rocket science.
I give up on this game - I fear over time, it is gettingworse and not better.
