Yes, I know the feeling, SpinningCloud. Actually I hate camping, I hate it so much I tend not to do it, and I suffered a lot from it especially preCU (not looting the tapes for my AS or the rifle speed ones).

It all depends on the rate. If those things end up being as rare as the BS helmet, that would spoil everything.


Now it is also possible that most of those things will end up dropping from every stormy, aakuan, jabba thugs etc... and be found on bazaar for 1 credit like the potraits of Luke Skywalker.


If when you drive with your swoop to your friend's cantina, yuo see a group of thugs, if you know that by killing them you will most likely get a tool or two, you will do it. If you know that they drop nothing useful, or something way too rare, you would prolly do as me and keep driving.

If you see a group of BS ships on your way to kasshyyyk to do a quest with your guildmates and you know by killing them you will get a few tools, you might do it.

I tend after two years playing, to need this little incentive to keep killing stuff like that. if the probability to loot stuff is high enough it is cool.


If those things are so rare or dropping from so unpopular stuff that we actually need to go camp stupid places/POIs for hours in the hope of looting a few tools, that sucks.

If we can succeed in gathering a good bunch of those things by keeping playing that game as we do, gathering them while running a few faction missions, or doing some quests, or slaughtering somemercenaries spawns on our wayto the gurk lair mission where we will collect hide, or flying to kashyyk or getting in our ship for half an hour, I say that is cool.

It's ridiculous that I need to kill something to do a job that I was able to perform normally just a day before.


I seriously believe the developers do not think when they implement things.

i agree, we should have smuggling missions with possible schematics etc. OR at least just up the drop of simple and finely crafted toolkits...

As with others, I think that the having loot dropwas the worse idea that the devs could have presented us. Having them be rewards from smuggling missions would be a cool way to keep this system.

The new slicing system is VERY POORLY thought out.


1) I can no longer make a living selling AUKs, WUKs, and Slicing Tools. Where is a smuggler supposed to make money now? Spices only? The ramifications to the economy were obviously NOT thought out.


2) Need loot to slice? What kind of crap is that? Loot *in addition* to using slicing tools/auks/wuks would be good.


SOE just ripped the 'nads off of the Smuggler profession.

I personally feel "gated" from capabilities because I am not a l33t-d00d who's only after loot.


While the spaceship component loot-concept isn't a bad idea, it really is only applicable in cases where everyone can have the same capability - IE, ship-pilot does not require skill-points.


With loot-drops, only elite combat professions will succeed.

as long as it drops from like almost n e npc in the game and its totaly random


wy make it drop from ONLY the baddest dudes in the game


there just incouraging a lootbased system that they spurrned to begain with by making it a player based econimy

Stupid idea. Where is thecreativity orintent to make the game feel like Star Wars.This isn't rocket science.

I agree but it will mean nothing. The devs have decided that loot camping brings longevity to the game in place of their lack of compelling content. I love smuggling loot camping just is not what floats my boat.
