Thread: Test center patch update concerning Feign Death

Not only that but many BH have feign death in their template aswell, so neither would be able to win, it would be stupid.
I just came here to post that very same thing
I am a Bounty Hunter on Live, and I do not have FD (though this probably explains why I am glad to see it removed from pvp). At the moment I would love to be the Jedi population control that most people expect a BH to be. Problem is, I can only hunt Knights at the moment and I have to do a lot of faction switching to do that as I hunt solo, and they tend to be grouped. Any mid-level Jedi can still ahve FD (they usually don't drop it until 60% of their template is done) and for low level Jedi it is certain they have it.
There is no way I would ever hunt a smuggler if FD was working in pvp.

Smuggler Revamp?! What's that? Is that the thing they've been telling us for the past 2 yearsis around the next bend and over the next hill?
"But Tiggs said they're working on it and it was mentioned in a question that you yourself asked in the HoC Chat, Nick!"
How many references to past posts and threads that said the same thing do you want? 3? 4 or 5? how about 10? I can pull 'em up real quick.
I want that Smuggler Revamp baaad but I sure as Hell ain't counting on it for any time in the near future. I want to work my damnedest to get that quality revamp for this community but that's all there is. It's that mystical pot of gold at the other end of the rainbow and will be until it hits Test Center.
The "Let us nerf you now and fix you in the revamp" scheme won't work any more. That's what happened with slicing, it's what's happened with spices, it's what is happened to every single frackin' line in Smuggler. Gah, I'm sick of it ![]()
NickHeel wrote:I'll agree that this does see new light with the option to go into PvP mode or enter into Jedi where it's perfectly stated and clarified that you could and will see Player versus Player combat. However, like I said about Spice above and what LM here is saying, it doesn't justify removing the skill from an area of the game without giving compensation to make up for the hole that it causes. This was the problem with Spices and the Chef Revamp/Doctor buff overhaul. We have a big ass hole on the right 1/4 of our skill tree. Now the bottom half of our only combat line is a pothole. Not to mention that NPCs still reaggro in PvE, so you're fracked if you FD in PvE when solo. And Panic Shot...well, say you use it and somehow peace, the MoB is still aggro'd on you so you can't pull your bike to run away and the MoB can still chase after you on foot and wait the 10 seconds before attacking again. This is effectively kills half our combat skills in PvE and PvP along with a useless Spices line. Let's throw in the Underworld line for non-factioned Smugglers too. And the autopull and "color" problems in the Slicing line. Yippy!I wanna fight someoneKnuckle up, Tyrant! I'm coming to cram that rocket launcher so far down your throat, you won't even taste the depleted uranium!
Ooooh, he's on a roll!

But FD was never intended to be a PvP move. At Fan Fest, one of the panel members in the Hybrid Forum made that perfectly clear.
If this changes and makes it totally useless in PvP, I'd spin around and dance a jig. Expel me from the circle of trust if you will.
I'm gonna agree with you Veela...
In the old (current) system, with TEFs and having to be Overt to perform FP transfers, this was more of an issue...since it truly was the only thing a Smuggler could do sometimes to survive...
However, with the new (TC) system, no more TEFs, and an active choice by the user to accept the consequences of participating in PvP makes this a little easier to swallow.
Though, I do agree with consensus that there should be something put in place to offset the loss of one of our specials in PvP...something that COULD be used effectively in PvP...
My solution for the whole 'FD issue' would be to disable FD in PvP and leave it for PvE and introduce a new active escape skill (lots of good examples have been provided in almost every FD-related discussion on this forum). BH missions would be working properly and in a realistic manner, and there would still be a unique means to escape.
This, if it's indeed intended to make FD not viable in PvP, but still as it is right now in PvE, sounds like one half of the solution, the only problem I see here is that they should've done it the other way around - first introducing a new skill, and then changing the old one. This way you never know if there will ever actually be a second skill, and it's quite possible it will be delayed for the Revamp in 2034* or simply forgotten.
* - disclaimer: I don't actually know that the Revamp will happen in 2034, it might happen later, this is just an optimistic estimate

I'll QFE this to slow myself down. I'm getting too worked up and looking like a n00b.
Exactly.

But before we get all up in arms, lets see what Wes has to offer, if anything. This may not be as bad as we suspect it will be. We're too jaded here when something like this happens - come on, folks, we're better than this. We're a civil forum. Lets not grab the torches and pitchforks until...well, never, really, since it doesn't do any good, anyway...

Ranger traps on animals only
Ranger camo on PvE NPC's only
Rifleman conceal in PvE only
Warningshot (marksman skill) in PvE only
