Here's two points of view on one thing.


The Golden Rule.


Treat others as you wish to be treated.

Now of course, the Devs have treated us poorly in the past. One could then say, well that must be how they wish to be treated. I would agree with them. HOWEVER and I can't stress this enough, the Golden Rule is a two-way street. If we treat the Devs poorly, we we saying we wish to be treated poorly.


I'm going to take this opportunity to offer the Devs a suggestion:


Caylin gave you detailed notes about everything we want from our Revamp. Take these on a point by point basis. Give US two lists. One, things you just can't do. Two, things you think you can do. On the CAN'T do list, give us reasons WHY. On the CAN probably do list, tell us what changes you think you'll reed to make it work. If we say we'd rather live without a feature than have it the way you think you have to make it, listen to us. That's all.

Sorry, I can't help but be a little negative here. When did we get completely lumped in w/ the "other" professions being worked on? Last time it was Smuggler first, then everyone else. Then, it was Smuggler, and everyone else simultaneously. Now, it's Non-com profs, including smuggler. Too much wording we that belongs in lawyers' briefcases, not in these forums.


Again sorry, but it's been eating at me

Another thing we really need to keep in mind is not to shoot the messenger. I'm willing to bet there's very little that the Devs who are sent here as liasons are able to say in do in response to the community. Ideas and interaction are great, but I'm sure they're hamstrung not by their being cold, heartless, abusive tyrant devs that are wastes of humanity, but rather by NDAs and having do what their bosses want, and so on.
Give 'em a break.

One of the best posts for this forum. This is what we've wanted to hear. No, she didn't say they were using the feedback, nor anything else specific; but how many times have we said that we would simply like some ackowledgement?? eh??


Rank this up with GM's post finally stating that slicing is random, and we haveone thing that we have wanted for some time....acknowledgement!!!

QFE on Max. Original point on the subject was that nearly everyone, including commandos, has seen some serious attention. (Whether it was a revamp is debatable, but the changes to commando weapons were huge, as both of you clearly know.) Smugglers, on the other hand, still aren't functional as smugglers, and until these upcoming patches, I can't remember one change that expanded or added to our core abilities. I think we're earned a little priority.

Which, I'm happy to see, Tiggs' posts here seem to confirm. Those three posts were flat-out great to read, the kind of information we've been wanting for a long long time--and who knows, they might even go a ways toward removing the stingers from some of us old hornets.

Thanks, Tiggs. That's what we needed to know. Now if, like Dreven said, we can get some updates along the way to let us know we're not getting a mild upgrade or enhancement like the other non-combat professions and what you're doing with us, we'll be in business. Oh, and have GreenMarine stop in with his input so that we'll get a first hand account by someone on the inside we've worked with before, please.
