Thread: Is sliceing really as random as they say.

Actually since this game was designed based off the RPG tabletop game... If any of you play know its a d20 system. They used the new core rules not the old so it is indeed a d20 roll.

If I were to pull out the SWG Gamer mag I could even quote the dc for slicing. (Yes there is a prof called slicer.) So essentially at box 1 of slicing your dc is something like 30 your skill is say 10 so a d20 roll of 18 would net you a 28 2 off from a perfect slice score. This would result in say a 30% slice. (Unlike the RPG we can not choose speed nor damage or enc/effectiveness.) So I don't know how this system picks those. I do not care either. But if you were to say that at each box you get a 10 skill point gain. Box 4 would be 40 and lets say a dc for a 45% enc slice is going to be 60. You would have to roll a perfect 20.

So mister fibanianidnianidna roll a d20 while your slicing and see just how RANDOM it is.

BTW am I a geek for actually having this magazine or knowing these rules???

Ana-mo-cara...To make this simple: A D-I-C-E is a C-U-B-E,it has dots on it,and if you throw the dice,it rolls and a number shows. The game Star Wars Galaxies has a dice built in to it. So when you pick up the smuggler proffesion (In Star Wars Galaxies) you can "slice" weapons,so they get better. When you slice a weapon, the computer throws a dice for you,and you get a R-A-N-D-O-M result.

The people that have created the game "Star Wars Galaxies" has told Smugglers that slicing is random. If you have a dice, you could try it for yourself.

End this right now, people will never believe you, noone has believed you,and there is no such thing as an slicing exploit atm. And if you find an exploit, you should report it,instead of telling the whole smuggler community about it. Do you realize that noone will believe in what you will post in the future since you are posting complete lies right now?

You dont like what I post?
There is nothing I can care less about than that.

Excuse me here for thinking this but I'd like others input.

Knowing a hidden system and only slicing certain items at certain points in a sequence to get a desired result would be an exploit huh?

Ooooh, good point.

BTW this horse is less than a mist of blood now from the beating. Now folks are just smacking the ground with a Much-Splintered club. Just let this die. Please

Let me hit you with some facts:
Fact 1.) We all play Star Wars Galaxies.
Fact 2.) Star Wars Galaxies is based on Star Wars.
Fact 3.) Star Wars Galaxies is an MMORPG.
Fact 4.) MMORPG means Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game.
Fact 5.) We all play a Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game based on Star Wars.
Fact 6.) Not only do we play said game, but we spend a lot of our time discussing it in these forums.
Fact 7.) Facts 1-6 prove that we're all geeks.

Just writing something like "D20" or "D10" proofs our geekness.

As opposed to people that have a paranoia disorder and tell people that there's some secret conspiratorial sequence to slicing?

Just wondering out loud.
