Thread: You might remember in Publish 9...

Looks like slices are going to become a premium service soon...
Your GD right it is. This is one off peak MS who is hanging up the hat. Oh, more power to the slice Monkeys who want to go through this crap to do it. I'm not. I done slicing except for myself.

Why this went live I don't know.
Last night I made special mention of it on the c-forum, this morning I've posted about it again in a c-forum p10 issues. I'm not happy about it either.
Nice. Really sounds like they're listening to you, doesn't it? ![]()

This just proves that they really do not seem to listen to not only the normal players, but the correspondents to, my contempt for SOE grows and grows each publish.
I am seriously considering dropping smuggler now, even though I have been one for over 8 months now.
I just wish they listened to our problems, ideas and such....maybe one day they will, when nearly everyone has left for a MMORPG that does listen, and puts the paying public first.
Still not gonna slice, though.

Never mind about the XP grinding. Looks like it'll be awhile before I get a visit from that Old Man everyone's talking about. Since I RP'd my character in this MMO-R-P-G, and didn't grind out professions, despite my year+ playing, I'm gated from entering the village until all the hologrinders finish with it.
Still not gonna slice, though.
I know exactly how you feel, I too decided to resist the lure of the dark side and roleplay in a roleplaying game, strongly believing that I would get my reward. I laughed at my friends who hologrinded and stated that I would still get my reward. Well they are all now members of the Jedi Council and fully fledged masters, while I have had 8 months of pure unadulterated torment, bouncing from pillar to post in a haze, exactly what TKM do to my Master Smuggler.
Come on devs where is our reward, we the ppl who roleplay in your roleplaying game, are you going to give anything at all to the none hologrinders and profession grinders at all?

Going to dump Smuggler... I know good things may be on the horizon, but they've been forcing smugglers to walk in the wrong direction.
The carrot that's been dangling in front of my face for the past few months now looks like it's plastic and hollow. The romance of being a smuggler is dead. It died from malnourishment. No missions, can't PvP very well, not a crafter, not a fighter, spices practically worthless, faction sales a pain in the ass and now slicing is a pain in the ass as well.
What really gets to me is that this isn't a unknown bug. They added it, they were told over a month ago that it was a bad idea, they agreed that it was a bad idea and then they did nothing.
In the immortal words of Ash, "I'm through being their garbage boy!"
Probably go BH/Commando/Pistoleer and Hunt Jedi. No, wait a second, those are ranged weapons....

Thats it -- final straw. I could have been out there holo grinding and contributing nothing to the system. Instead, I feel that I provided a much needed
service in a friendly manner. I've dropped smuggler, 100%. I'm going to grind master Doc today and macro buffs at 12k each tomorrow. Thanks a lot
Devs, thanks a lot.
Right on, Gabby. I don't care if they fix this problem tomorrow, I'm done with it. They're just not listening. This morning I dropped Slicing and Spices, and I have one faction-purchase left before I dump Underworld as well. Smugglers aren't smugglers, I guess I finally figured that out.

The following patch note:
Profession: Smuggler
- You will no longer be able to slice an item by using a tool in a crate. You will have to remove it from the crate first.
