he's not allowed to quit, as Sunrunner's grandaddy smuggler I have forbidden it.

removing them from the GSW and lastly bring back perma-death:
Not that anybody cares - but after giving it more thought, I've decided not to quit the game completely. However, I am going to cancel 2 of my 3 accounts. I can no longer justify paying $45 a month for a broken game. That will leave me with one character with a token respec left, and free up some money for me to go try a new game as well. If I find I like a different game better, then I will probably axe my final SWG character as well.
Not sure what I'm going to respec to...I no longer see any reason to be a Ranger, CH, BE, or BH anymore...not really into the new slicing system either. Maybe I'll just finally break down and go Jedi like I'm apparentlysupposed to. ![]()

You must return and restart Shadow Kings...it's a great concept and the Sunrunner RP community needs it. Plus I'm hated by like half the RP community cause I took Moemeov's mission and killed him so they need a smuggler that they like in addition to Kyr

I think this game is going in a good direction, will every patch be something we enjoy?. I think it won't be, will the devs do things we hate, heck yes!, but does anyone really believe that the devs are trying to ruin the game?, I mean honestly, do you really think that?
Nope, really don't think anyone here thinks that. Some of the more annoying people during the major changes do make that accusation, like during the CU.
What I personally think, and it's an idea that I think is shared with more than one person around these parts, is that some marketing department, either in SOE or in LA, seems to have it in their head that Jedi is their golden goose, and despite their lack of actual gaming knowledge, exert an inordinate amount of control over development.
So no, nobody is trying to ruin the game, except inadvertently.
Well I have given some thought to this subject. I think the person who compaired SWG to the titanic is probably closer to the truth.
The CU is just one step to the systematic conversion of SWG to EQ2 in space. My personal opinion on the CU wasn't very fond from day 1 when it hit the TC. Yes we had issues with the old system but the old system was working. All it needed was some tweaking. Not a complete overhaul that it got. I mean the devs had two years of feedback. Yes alot of flaming trash but some really good ideas on how to balance the game out.
What I think happened was the original path for SWG wasn't even looked at. What this game is turning into is a forced grouping, loot camping game. Receint changes to the medic and smuggler professions support the theory that the current EQ2 devs are removing crafting from the game almost completely. It's going to come down to "if you want to craft then you have to loot". Not the orginal crafting system that actually rewarded long time crafters that actually took the time to gather the good resources (before vet rewards) and experiment with their product. If you want to do anything worthwhile in the game you now need to be a double combat master grouped with at least one jedi.
Before a single combat mastery would do. Stacking while part of the game wasn't necessary to get around before the CU. My weaponsmith/TKM friend would be a good example of that. Heck if they wanted to fix stacking of any sorts then the soloution is currently in place with armor encumberance. Simply take the highest value and go with that. It would have made stacking combat professions somewhat meaningful yet not gamebreaking and not a requirement.
The level system really did it for me. When my alt on day 2 got waxed by a devil gulginaw in one hit on talus of all places my dreams of having a crafter went up in smoke. I wasn't out adventuring, I was trying to get out of my house. Now that So'ren has CL64 I find ground combat lacking. Dont get me wrong. I think its cool that if i take too much damage I can /diveshot behind a hill and run like crazy. Space combat kinda reminded me of what combat was like. I am reffering to the time before I had to use buffs to get off more than five shots and wear armor. To those of us left, that was back atlaunch. With my 30/30 ubese and my DH-17 snub I was able to wreak havock on white to yellow conned npcs of up to three and do so without a break in combat. Combat was fast, exciting, and fun. It usually didn't require me to run any further than 90m from the mission area. Unlike now which requires me to pull one npc while taking damage from the other one or two in the area and running up to 240m from the mission area. Then moving back to the mission area and waiting till my health bar regens enough for yet another attempt at another npc. Boring and time consuming. Of course these days if your wearing ubese your not a carbineer and the DH-17 was nerfed to hell and back.
I have other issues with SWG these days. If it werent for space combat and the time I have left on my sub I think I would have left a while back. I find the ground game about as boring as it comes.
Alot comes to mind. But with receint figures SWG just barely broke even with the CU. They got a 5k increase in subscriptions after loosing a conservatively estimated 51k subscriptions (alts, people who left the game, ect, ect). Meaning that SWG isn't going to do much better than it is now. And I think that as people get fed up and leave then the situation is only going to get worse. But those are just my opinions.
whoops.
