I would choose crafting for normal slicing, smuggler missions for the elite class of slicing.

i wouldnt mind combining it with 4


but at least with 3 if we could say make the toolkits ourselves and then the specific others being looted that would be great

I personally want option #4. I wouldn't mind if the upper level components were RARE loots in addition though. I also would like to see there being no way to Econo-loot them from smuggler missions.

My vote: 3



I would prefer 4, the tools being rewards for actual smuggling jobs, or skimmed from the supply being moved, but they're still a ways off from that system, so 3 is viable and works for me.


simple toolkits, and finely crafted toolsets should be craftable... simply allow salvaging of old AUK's and WUK's gain them (crated or non-crated), and base it according to either the A or W... IE- Armorsmiths craft the simple toolkits, in place of AUK's now, and Weaponsmiths the Finely Crafted Toolsets in place of WUK's. They'd salvage the same way. Smugglers have always done well working with Armor and Weaponsmiths to get the old tools, and it opened doors for them to work together, IE- an Armorsmith doing regular business with a Smuggler, bartering AUK's for slicing work, etc. It was nice to get the profs to rely on each other in that aspect, and has been since obliterated.


Having to hunt down a delicate trigger assembly, or Mandalorian Intraframe from something tough isn't asking too much, the specific 'all speed' or 'all damage' slices should require a bit more, and the crit% slices definately should... but with the system in place now going, smugglers slicing is SERIOUSLY hindered, and only possible by either endless and/or high-end hunting, which is NOT what a smuggler does.



We're a jack of all trades... some combat, some crafting, some other tricks (faction skills, languages). To require every smuggler who wants to slice to become a loot grinder will kill the profession's fun aspects. Please realize this and create a happy medium.



What we've seen so far is not what was promised prior to JTL for smugglers, it's a cop-out... And I'm beyond anger over it, and bordering on giving up, as are many of my fellow smugglers. SOE can finally do us right as promised and fix what's wrong with our profesion, all it takes is some communication. Let's hope they come through.

I go for #3, but instead of conventional loot I think you should get them from finding smuggler ships in space, docking with them, and getting components by doing so

I like #3, mabye mixed with #4, crafted slicing tools, with better tools coming from smuggler missions.

I would like a mix of 3 and 4 ( i know only pick one) but how about option 5 for both :-)


looted a few things today had a great time doing it.. but would be nice to get the lower end kits as well.
