can someone please help with the negative aspects of armor slicing?

for example i was told that getting armor sliced offsets the elite bonuses on hinderances to movement and rate of fire etc

can you please list the negative aspects to expect

Do the slices stack? One of my guildmates says yes it does. I decided to see for myself. I had limited tools to use so I could only do the two slices.

Ok I did a test with a carbine
Damage slices
Original Damage 30-60
2% damage slice (2% of 60 = 1.2) Damage is now 30-61
4% damage slice (4% of 60 = 2.4) Damage is now 31-62

Now if the slices stacked wouldn't my damage be 63 max or a 3.6 point increase? Or is the extra point going to the minimum?

Would someone explain what the 2% corresponds to in this slice?


Hardening: (Absorbs 50% of damage when hit)

I have been searching for hours on this one question tumbling around in my head and didn't find an answer (or just overread it):

- What about slicing Faction-Bases (GCW): Do we still need Precision-Laser-Knifes and Molecular-Clamps to slice the Security-Terminal (i hope so) ?

^^ If thats the way, that would solve the question "Why is there no Salvage-Option on my Knifes and Clamps" => Because they can still be used to slice Base-Terminals...

Anyone has an answer on this ?

just a question. i currently have an ALR at 1104 dmg unsliced. if i do a tier III dmg slice on this i would hit about 1194 dmg. but the cap is 1184. would i HIT the cap and stop if i do all 8% or can i only get a tier II which lands it lower?

Went through about 35 or so locked containers and pulled a shock absorpent padding for the slicing components.. guess they are a rare drop in the containers now.

I suggest you change the customisation info to what each slice ADDS, and not the cumulative total, due to the fact we can mix and match up to that 100% total.

As I mentioned in another post regarding salvage, there seems to be 4 "levels" of component (with the top level being VERY rare if not impossible to salvage from kits) - these levels also seem to tie in with looting somehow. Possibly being dependent on Mob combat level, although Id have to kill a lot of mobs of varying levels to confirm this. Probably the same in space too.


Simple Toolkit - Level 1, Common salvage, Dropping from levels ??-??

Finely Crafted Toolkit - Level 2, Less common Salvage, Dropping from combat levels ??-??

Shock Absorbant Padding

Powered Motivators

Trandoshan Intraframe - Level 3, Rare salvage, Dropping from combat levels ??-??
