You guys are earning over a 4k profit charging 5k. You can't say you aren't earning money.

Call me a troll, why? Is it because I don't agree with you? Awww, cry me a river sasquatch. I have a smuggler, though it isn't my main character that I use, just something on the side. You yourself have master pistoleer, a combat profession. So go make money doing missions with that and use no last ditch or low blow shots so you don't spoil yourself. Ripping people off is all that you are doing. Put spices on bazaars or get located in a mall with a good location. On the topic of buffs being 10k, that is different as you are paying for a good buff and you know beforehand what you are getting. These smacktards want to rip people off by charging them the same price regardless of slice quality.

the question is not : are we making money while slicing, we do. The question is : are we making enough money. At 4k profit pr slice, what can you buy in this economy with 4k? i cant even get a decent pair of VK's for 4k, i pay about 10k pr powerhammer, 10 - 15k for a buff, 200 - 450k for a suit of comp. This might sound stupid but 4k is nothing, Il rather take my combat skills and run janta and mokk missions for 80k pr 8 or 9 minutes, so in the same time it would take me to slice your stuff including waiting and trading i made 80k profit. Now you tell me why should i slice you stuff? I get about 10k pr slice on a mission term in an improved job market. Il rather slice my own Comp to 90% base and the next time i fight you in unsliced PvP comp il do 30% more damage pr hit.

Firstly this thread was intended to be a debate amongst smugglers, by your own admission you say you have a smuggler you "use on the side", so why not support the poor people who can only have on toon? They need slicing to suppliment there income, reffing to them (and me) as "smacktards" will get you endless sympathy 
By the way your comment regarding buffs "you know what you are getting", ya, a slice will get you a DEFINATE IMPROVEMENT to your weapon/armour... Safe bet and lasts more than three hours

Ok here is my 2 cents.
I became a smuggler because i play table top Star Wars and i love that class. There isnt any slicing in the game persay but i play my in gam charcter as a smuggler would be played.
I charge 10k, not o make cash but on RPG worth to me. See you as a customer search me out for an illegel service that i provide, and me as a provider find it to be worth 10k that includes the materials the time i stop to slice and also RPG value. I have been asked to try and get a dam or speed slice that they want badly and i will get down on my knees pray to the Great Smuggler god for assistance. In most cases it works,l lol, but in that rare 11% slice will haggle with customers to make sure they are happy and to show that i did in a way screw up, although they are completely random, but its RPG value again. I have many a customer that come back knowing i charge 10k but the like the way i play it. Just the other day i was asked to try and get a speed slice well as most of you know it seldom works that way and yes the Great Smuggler GOd ignored me and i got a 15% dam slice so i then got ready to haggle after i told them, and to my surprise they said "no worries, i just guess the gods aren't listening today 
" and he tipped me 10k anyways. See earlier that day they asked me for a Dam slice and i did the routine and got a 33% Dam slice for them and they procided to tip 20k for it and they were happy. I have noticed by playing the RPG and adding to the experience has helped me in most cases. As far as helping the newbies well i go to Tat alot and hang out and slice and give out small amounts of cash and answer any questions i can, and also explain on how slicing is completely random.

A smuggler is a greedy low life that as stated earlier in the thread that is always looking for that perfect score and leaving from cred to cred. Yes i am well off but thats because of my slicing and i thank my RPGing for that more then anything.
