changed my mind have to ask.

so why do you care? csr said your rifles are ok. you didn't do the slicing so you aren't going to get in trouble.

you aren't even a smuggler so you can never do the exploit/bug/whatever you want to call it to a weapon.

so why are you worried about getting an answer? piece of mind? csr should have given you that. worst that could happen is that they take the rifles away later.

not flaming just not understanding.

This whole debate can go on forever, and it will, untill a red name comes to clarify the situation. And Smuggler_Caylin has told us that he received word (pm's) that the powerup slicing process is in fact an exploit. But he cannot disclose any information

Ailuu has stated that aCSR has told her her rifles are legal. But the catch with this statement is that the CSR never mentioned the Power Up slicing technique directly. He just said the rilfes are legal.

Here's what I don't understand, and flame if you want, but I find it odd that when Smuggler_Caylin makes his claims about hearing from a dev Ailuu dismisses them and calls them opinions yet when she talks about her chat with the CSR she refers to it as being a fact.

Ailuu saying that Caylins and others statements aretheir "opinions" and that her statements are factual in nature is, for all intents and purposes, just plain wrong.

Both parties have there statements, and the only way to clarify them is to wait for a dev to address the situation.

Caylin has facts that conflict with my facts, both from the same source, SOE. Other people cooraborating Caylins facts, are statingopinions. As I am not privy to Caylin's facts, neither are they. People stating that Caylin's source is more valid than my source, are stating opinions. And, my intention is for this to go on as long as it takes to get an answer from SOE. Someone called me a cheater, I want someones nuts in a vice. However, an answer from SOE about the situation will suffice.

I'm not trying to flame anyone, although I have responded less subjectively to a couple posts that did nothing but attack me

Indeed some are. But you fail to point out that you have indeed stated opinions as well as stating your "facts". I do see that some have attacked you personally but unfortunately that is the nature of the beast that is the online forum. Couple of people have presented facts to you as well, yet you went ahead and dismissed themas being false representations.

I'm just calling ithow I see it. Trying to hose off whatever flames may have started from this debate.

In the end both sides want the same thing, a final answer from a dev or appointed rep. Nothing more. Yet, will we get that any time soon? That should be debated as well

Ailuu you are using weapons which you claim (but can not prove) have been sliced using what you think might be an exploit. (note a CSR looked at your weapons and they are within the min/max range for those weapons)

Your here blaming all smugglers for your lack of integrity want SOE to justify your right to use the "exploit".

If those are exploited weapons then YOU are using the exploit and your just here to blame others for your inability to destroy them.

You want justification for your lack of integrity, please stop blaming smugglers/SOE for it.

Ailuu, it's kinda cool that you're sticking to your guns, perseverance, standing your ground, and pride in what you feel is right are good qualities.

However, you have to understand the way this game works. Slicing is a very natural thing, and it's very easy to understand that p-up slicing is not the way the devs have naturally created slicing. Anything that differs from the way the game is MEANT to be played, and has a differing outcome, is considered an exploit.

Yes, a CSR cleared your weapons. There could be many reasons for this. He could be retarded. He could have been the 5 yr old child of an actual CSR, who happened to be in the bathroom for the time being. He could have not cared whatsoever about the situation. Or, the most likely, he could have realized that you had not intended to exploit those guns, so he didn't feel like punishing you instead of the actual slicer.

I didn't read every single post, but read the entire first page and the majority of following posts. I don't think this has been suggested yet, if it has I'm sorry.

Go find a different CSR, maybe grab 2 of them. You're almost certain to get differing opinions. Then which one will you turn to as being fact? Up to you I guess.

A second CSR has declared the rifles legal. Again, this was done after it was made clear the rifles were sliced with the involvment of a power up in the slicing process.

Still waiting for a clarification SOE. Please respond on this situation. There is obviously some confusion on this matter. A couple of people have even gone so far as to say the reason the rifles are being declared legal is because a duality in the rules. This is simply absurd. If the rifle is legal, the technique to make them is legal. If the technique is not legal, then the rifles are not legal Please clear this up SOE.

And how to they determine if the rifles are legal? Why don't you, I don't know, PM the exploit guy. What did Caylin say his name was?

CSR-KeithR Acknowledged to me in-game that this is an exploit.

Food for thought though, on a sliced weapon, the "remove powerup" option on the radial menu is normally the 4th option.

On an unsliced weapon with a powerup on it, you do not recieve a "remove powerup" option on the radial menu.

On an unsliced weapon with a powerup on it, the 4th option is "slice" and NOT "remove powerup".

On an unsliced weapon with a powerup on it, when the fourth option is selected, it behaves like the "remove powerup" and "slice" options are overlaped, so it removes the powerup and opens the slicing window. Further proof is evidenced in composite armor slicing.

Before the color change patch, the 4th option on an unsliced peice of armor was "slice".

After the color change patch, the 4th option on a sliced piece of armor was "change color".

After the color change patch, the fourth option on an unsliced piece of armor was "slice"

After the color change patch, the fourth option on an unsliced piece of armor will both open the slicing window AND the color change window.

These two instances show that the removal of the powerup in weapon slicing is linked to overlapping options on the radial menu. This might be by design, or it might be due to a bug with overlapping radial menu options. In either event, people have been and will continue to be banned for it.

i really don't see the difficulty in understanding the spirit of Ailuu's question here (though in this case the spirit of the question does not actually have to be understood, as she has explained it in very clear and plain terms). why is everyone getting so annoyed about it? if you don't know the answer, you don't know it! say so and move along.

implying that she has in any way been trying to justify her sliced weapons is absurd and simplistic, a dissapointing attempt of a copout when confronted with a question to which you have no answer.

she has pointed out very correctly that nothing that anyone has said, however logical (since when has logic played a part in the development of this game?) has effectively countered her factual argument, but rather, merely created a conflict of information, which she wants to resolve.

rather than swallowing the line and conforming to the general air of indignance, perhaps you should join her in asking the question, however futile it may seem, rather than twisting her question into something else, making personal attacks and generally carrying on in an appalling manner.

Lets put it simply. I really want a clarification and most of you know why. Why is it so hard to get one? We can only follow the rules if the rules are duely given to us by an informed and knowledgable source. The source has to be SOE.. and quite correctly so far we have only the approval on these guns by csrs. They represent the company and therefore are the last word unless someone from the *company* deems otherwise. Ailuu is only attempting to end this debate and is doing it in a factual and informative manner. Let me say that she has shown me how gaming works and how by posting on the forums, you can attempt to geta clarification on a pressing problem. What more can an intelligent community want? I was thinking last night, off topic, but still on the mark, what is an exploit? Are jedi's hunting a glitched spawn in the geo caves an exploit? Everyone says it is and everyone knows it is, yetthe caves are busy with jedi and otherhunters of loot doingjust this.. SOE hasnt fixed it and hasnt banned anyone using this glitch/exploit, whatever u want to call it. So is this another exploit because everyone says it is and should it be bannable? How many of these are there and how many professions are affected? What are the clear lines on every glitch or bug? People are really confused on the grey matter. And some simply dont know, not being such expert and seasoned gamers. Please someone from SOE take a stand. It would relieve the animosity on the forums and the confusion. It would help newer gamers know the rules and guidelines required to play online. We can only hope for it would make things better for all and end the personal attacks on people just wanting to be informed by people in the know.. Best regards to all .
